Default Blackberry Storm2 9550 on AT&T

I currently have a BB 9550 from Verizon, but will be going to AT&T soon. I know the 9550 supports both Verizon's CDMA and other carrier's GSM, but how would I go about taking my Blackberry to AT&T?

Buy one of the free Blackberrys that come with a new contract, and swap the the sim card with my Storm2? I know I will have to 'unlock' the Storm2, and this looks easy enough to do, but if I do swap the sim cards, will I have full functionality of the BB, including BBM, email, web, etc?

Thanks in advanced.

Default Since you have moved to AT&T

Just a suggestion. ATT has a promotion to give the Torch away for next to nothing with a new plan. May be worth looking into.

Regards,
Mark

You can unlock your blackberry storm and use a SIM card with it.

Keep in mind that you will only get EDGE on an unlocked Storm 2 on AT&T.

The 3G GSM frequencies are only supported overseas, not in North America.

Easier said then done... yes the phone can be unlocked; but he would have to manually type in service books in order for BIS to work along with everything that follows with BIS..

Will prob only get EDGE ... i would also look into a torch; it's touch screen, but not a click type touch... I believe Radioshack and few places are doing it for like $FREE, I know AT&T stores have them for $49.99

I would not recommend a Torch at this time.
