Default BES Express on BIS $15 Plan - Possible?

I have BIS 200MB $15/month data plan with AT&T. Can I connect to BESX (BES Express) with this data plan? Anyone tried it?

As far as I understand, theoretically, it should be possible to connect to a BES Express server. RIM also released an app "Enterprize Activation" for OTA activation of BES Express over BIS network. So, I suppose it should work. Right?

Thanks,
Tintin

Yes you can. I am using BESX and it works great. I am on the old unlimited plan but using the device for email, calendar, and lite browsing I only use about 14 Meg a month. You download the app and your IT person will give you the server address and password and your good to go. I can take awhile to complete the sync. Sometimes 5 min sometimes 2 hrs. Once it connects with this server set it down and let it do it's thing.
Hope this helps

Hi fire6,

Many Thanks. I have my e-mail and password. Downloaded the app and tried to activate wirelessly. But it says "An error occured. The email address or password may be incorrect. Please contact your system administrator". I tried many times. Sometimes, I see for an instant an e-mail coming to my outlook from "blackberry_net_...". Then the e-mail disappears (it stays for an instant in outlook inbox) and the error appears in the handset. Any idea what is happening? I am trying to activate a Bold 9900 (OS 7.x).

I will speak with the IT admin, but they often don;'t have a clue on such issues!!!

Let me start at the beginning. In case your IT person ask you any questions. First IT has to download BESX and get it running with exchange. Then they have to add you as a user. It's like a drag your profile from exchange and drop you in BESX. Then IT will issue you a password, this is not the password you normally use for email. My IT uses 0000, it expires in 48hrs. Also ask your IT person the address of the server. Once that is done you usually get a email stating you have been added and here is your password. Now you go into the entriprise activation app and plug in your email address, server address, and the password the IT person gave you. I have done this several times and it worked. Like I said before it sometimes takes hours sometimes minutes to sync. You can check by going to the enterprise app and it will show the time and date of activation. If it still shows a bunch of lines saying connecting, sync, or complete then it is still working.
Good luck

Thanks very much fire6. It turns out that my password expired. Once I got the new password, everything worked fine - just as you described. Thanks again.
