BB Tour Unlocked / BBM

I have a Sprint Tour and unlocked it. ATT sim is in and voice calls work fine. My BB is showing up on ATTs system as "unknown" so they wont know its a BB unless I tell them.

That being said, is it possible to use BBM if I get a data plan for a non-smartphone or do I need the BES/BIS? I searched but most threads I found are dated from 09 so not sure if there is some update to this.

You need a BlackBerry Data Plan in order to use BlackBerry Data features such as BBM.

If you need a dummy IMEI to give AT&T so you can have a BlackBerry data feature added, use this one.

It's a red BlackBerry Curve 8310 that doesn't exist. The IMEI it was derived from is that of a water-damaged Curve that has long since been laid to rest.

Just make sure that your data plan supports BIS.. Unfortunately it will only work on 2G.
