Default BB to HTC Aria

My cousin is giving his HTC Aria to my sister who will be replacing her BB 9700. My sister has unlimited data. She got her BB before ATT changed to tiered pricing. If we just put her SIM card into the Aria willthat be fine or should we call ATT first? I don't want my sister to lose her unlimited data plan. Thanks in advance.

You'll need a different data plan feature code that will make the aria work properly data wise. She is absolutely able to keep it unlimited. Putting the sim card in might do it automatically, or you can call in. Calling in will be fine, they'll ask you for the imei number and you just have to be VERY firm with them to keep the data unlimited. If they try saying it's not available...call BS on them, it is. If she switches back to a BB at some point, she can still keep unlimited as well.

Thanks for the response! We called in and the switch was fine. She used the Aria for a few days and she doesn't like it, screen is small. I'm going to help her look for a used Inspire. Should I meet the seller at an ATT store so they can release the phone? I know we have to do that for VZW but not sure about ATT.

nah that wouldn't be necessary. Once you get a hold of the used inspire, all you have to do is pop the sim card into the inspire and you're good to go.
