auto update without permission?

what is this auto update trying to load without permission. i hit cancel!???? my friend also had this happen today as well. What is att trying to implement into my phone????

Over in the Torch section, some users are experiencing some auto-update that they can't stop. Some phones are freezing up in the process too and getting stuck in a bootup, trying to download again and freeze up again loop. Some of them already have the AT&T current build .600 OS, so it's a mystery as to what is actually updating.

Although, I haven't seen this on my phone... yet. Unless it already happened and I missed it.

I saw the earlier reports and heard the carrier was trying to figure it also. I have not seen anything either.
