Default ATT Clerk Dlssing BB

I have a good friend who lost her Iphone last saturday. She went to one of the local ATT stores and told the sales person that she had just lost her IPhone and could he ping it. He of course said no. She told him that she wanted to replace it then with a BB Torch as she likes mine. He proceeded to tell her how much of a piece of junk the Torch and BB is and that she needed to stick with the IPhone. So..she went back to the IPhone!!! That just ticks me off royally! I am going to upgrade my 9800 to the 9810 and give her my 9800!!

If you want a good recommendation, you talk to somebody who's in tech support. If they don't know anything about a phone, it stands to reason that there aren't any common or severe issues with it.

Meanwhile everybody knows what a colossal pain iPhones (and their users) are.

Anyone who takes the word of a complete stranger in this day and age is begging to be taken advantage of.

That's why we have the internet. So you don't have to rely on some punks recommendation.

Yes, because the internet surely isn't full of drooling mongrel idiots who wouldn't know a Google from a noodle, screaming their uneducated opinions and FUD from the virtual streetcorners as scientific fact. The signal to noise ratio is infinitely close to zero.

Option 1) "Well,,, What do you recommend that is best for me Mr.Salesman?"

Option 2) "I have already compared features and pricing for all the models you offer on the internet and I already know what I want."

Don't ask what you should buy.

Ask what you should NOT buy. You'll get more honest answers that way. But AT&T employees are not allowed to call the iPhone a defective piece of ████ when representing AT&T.

The salespeople do that because they get more commission for selling iPhones and androids rather than BBs.

This is true for any salesperson, not just ATT ones.

Sent from my VZW Thunderbolt.

^ I was under the impression that, unlike BB, Androids, Win Phone, etc., there is no commission to be made on iPhones. Of course, my impression could be wrong, but that's what I've been told many times over.

If anything, iPhones cost AT&T more reputation and money than anything else, since iPhone users never seem to know how to do anything on their phones, and can't seem to grasp the concept that if their daughter's BlackBerry, their son's Galaxy S, and their spouse's 3G flip phone do not drop calls all the live long day, and their iPhone does, it's not likely the "network" that's the problem.

I was in a att store today to see if they finally had a 9860, which they didn't.Wife is ready to come back to bb but wants to see all 3 side by side.
Any how when I walked in after they asked I said I wanted to see the berrys and a rep pointed me right to them. I started looking at the 9810 and he kept messing with the bold. I asked which one had a better display and he answered the bold has one the best out there suprisingly.
I told he about interest in the 9860 and he said I can order it off the web but they can't in the store and put focus back on the bold's amazing keyboard in conparison to that on of the torch and the touchscreen keyboard. Then asked if I saw the tv commercials with the skyrocket. I said yes and he asked me to bring my 9900 over to the skyrocket and stated that it had the best android has to offer for screen and the 9900 was better.
Then he pointed out that the skyrocket along with every other android there except for the atrix2 couldn't get over 3 bars and my 9900 was holding 5 strong. The atrix2 was showing 3 and 4. He had the iphone4s that also was only getting 3. Then stated bb would give me the best reception.

Then onto battery life he said the androids would have to be charged 2 times a day and that any BB or iphone would do better. He said he had the 9810 and it lasted almost 2 full days his iphone would make it to 7-8 o'clock.
So I was amazed that a iphone using store rep did NOTHING to move me from BB but instead preached for its good qualities. Email wasn't brought either.I do believe he really wants the bold.
