Why Won't My OS Update?? I Deleted The Vendor Xml file!!

I'm having hassles for with this.

I've deleted the Vendor file, I'm using Desktop Manager 4.6 and have made sure I'm not running with Automatic Updates, I've run Uploader from the Program file instead of the bloated version from the desktop.

I then double-click the program to install the OS v .131 (which is called: 9500_omadrmEuropean_PBr4.7.0_rel181_PL4.0.0.158_A4 .7.0.131 ) and then I get the error:

"The Application Loader is currently running. Before proceeding please close it. Select Cancel to abort Instalation".

Where am I going wrong? My Storm 9500 is connected to the PC, running XP.

If I run the above v .131 software on its own I get something of a version of v 4.7 and my handset later says I am still running Vodafone's v .78 firmware.

Although the above happened - it was also installing v 1.31!

If you do the update on a pc that is connected to your corporate network the no. Otherwise yes.

My problem is when I download the OS and try to install it onto the computer, it says error and will not let me proceed. The only OS I have been able to get to show up in the app loader is a hybrid version, and all it did was backup my phone and then proceed to say that a fatal error has occured. But it, thankfully, did not mess up my phone. It left it just as it was. I have done all the above. I turn off all network connections, deleted the vendor file. Its frustrating. If you can help me please do! THanks in advance!

i tried to install 132 ona verizon storm during the install my phone disconects during the install right at the poit it turns radio off it then doesnt reconect so i get a fatal error what am i doing wrong ive tried everything in all the post Thanks

Well Im new to the forum but not to blackberry's. I currently have .075 and am tring to install .141. I finaly found the .axl file and folder with my pin and copied them. I go to app loader and it only shows up with current and downgrade. Long story short I redid all the steps a few times and finally got v.141 to show up on app loader when I selected to install it and clicked next it says "no software update is required for your device". Gives no option to install .141. I clicked options and chose to back up the device and apps and clicked next. It did the backups and reloaded .075 like I just bought the phone, after battery pull I still have .075 and it reloaded all my settings still no.141! HELP me please. After I get this working on my phone and like it my wife wants hers done too.

EDIT: I already deleated the vendor file as well.

deleted both vendor files, loaded DM without auto update, reinstalled OS. worked fine

i done all that was listed.the new program was listed,i checked it,then it said no software update is required for my device,im using 113,and the new one is 141,any help would be helpfulllll....

great instructions; updated from .75 to .132 effortlessly...only problem is I lost my quick launch serial number....how can i get that back?

i'm trying to load .151 on my phone and i'm unable to do it. i've tried modifying DM (5.0) and that hasn't worked. i've uninstalled/installed .151 with internet/firewall/ whatever shut off and on, still hasn't worked. i've done the files with DM loaded and not loaded, hasn't worked. i have the internet on/off, still hasn't worked. i'm on a sony with vista. am i missing something? and yes, i deleted the vendor file in apploader.
