Vcast Song ID works nicely but the overall app seems slow

I dont like the Vcast song ID at all, It's painfully slow when you open it and there has been a buch of times it couldn't identify songs. Shazam on the other hand I could never stump, and its very fast. It may not be completely functional on the storm but it works good enough if all you want to know is the name of a particular song.

You kind of hijacked this thread. But to answer your question, use mass storage mode to transfer your pictures (go to Options> Memory> set Media Card Support to On, Mass Storage Mode Support to On and Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected to either Yes or Prompt). Then connect your device to your computer using the usb cable and you will get two drives (BlackBerry1 is your device memory and BlackBerry2 is your media card) where you can just drag and drop your pictures.

Default Where did my music go?

I just installed songID. It showed up over night on my Storm.

After install, I went to my music (all files on my mediacard)

and over half, 144 song just disappeared from the list.

It looked like it was scanning the song list, then when it finished it rolled the number down to 116 from 260.

I counted the items and it is correct now.

Anyone have a clue why it wiped all the songs?

I can reload them from my itunes on my computer but I wish they would tell you what and why they would do it.

SongId didn't cause this problem to happen. Songs disappearing from the list in the music app are the result of the indexing problem that exists for songs that are stored on the media card. The quick solution is to just delete the BBThumbs.dat file from the music folder on the media card and let the device do a scan to recreate this file.

You have to edit the permissions to allow for songid for it to work.
Options> Advanced Options> Applications> highlight songid> press bb key> edit permissions> then set these to allow

works for me. If you allowed all permissions and it is still just listening, delete the app from setup>advanced>applications>songid. Re-install and allow all permissions before downloading, works great now.

Shazam is compatible with the Pearl Flip 8220 according to their website and most likely the 8230 is too.

I'm sorry it took so long to respond, it took the new 5.0 OS being leaked to grab my attention again to Crackberry. This is actually an error the Blackberry Storm does sometimes (or often times) commit. A work-around I have found that works to semi-correct the issue is to make a playlist with ALL the songs on your media card during a sync. After this playlist is synced to your Blackberry as well, you should be able to play the songs 'missing' from your Blackberry, even if they are highlighted in red. Hope this helps
