Default Desktop Manager

My desktop manager all of sudden does not read my storm, it had been up until about 20 mins ago. I restarted both my phone and the computer and still nothing. Does anyone know how to fix this? thanks

Tip: how to change the home screen icons to first 4, 8, or 12 icons in the blackberry menu.
1. arrange your icons on the blackberry menu by highlighting an icon then hit the BB key then click move.
2. highlight any icon and hit the BB button then go to options and select the # of rows you want on your home screen

Create a thread instead of cluttering up a Tips and Tricks ONLY thread.

Also, as stated somewhere else in this thread, instead of having to hit menu then move.. just hit the BB key twice.

I'm not able to do this. You say if you hold down the back arrow looking key to close a program, it fully closes? Mine does not do this.

What programs are you trying to close?

Default Dual timezone clock

To see the Dual timezone clock on the Storm set the home time zone to whatever your home timezone is. The use the set time setting to change the timezone to a different one, then you will have two different timezones appear in the clock setting.

Thanks to Hoffy for explaining this to me.

Default Questions!!!

Is there way when talking on the phone to lock the buttons on the touch screen? I have found it rather annoying when I am trying to multi-task and hold the phone with shoulder and cheek that I keep hitting the damn mute button and its getting on my nerves. I know there is blue tooth and headsets but there has to be to lock these options while using the phone. Anybody have any idea how too?

Also if I want to delete all of my SMS messages or any messages for that matter how do I do it all at once instead of having to delete them one at a time?

THANK YOU!!

~B

Hold down the Menu key at home and this will bring up your active app list. Tere are many that will not close but have to stay open. Go through them all and close what you can to improve speed. And remember to close your apps.
.... totally missed this....

You can highlight all your messages. Thumb over the first text and then use another finger and highlight the texts under it (pretty much like holding down CTRL).....then hit delete

If you hold you finger over

a) a name in email

b) a subject in email

it will do an autosearch for a) or b)
