Try closing them, then holding the blackberry button to see which apps are running. That's how I was able to confirm that they were closed.

Incredibly useful thread.

I don't know if this was already pointed out, but from the home screen if you press the menu button, it should then take you to a larger list of applications.

Now from this larger list of apps screen, you press the menu button again and then go to options, you'll see a option window that shows a fast way to set a downloads folder, how many rows of icons you want on the homescreen (I set it to one so I can see more of my homescreen wallpaper) From here you can also quickly change your phone's wallpaper and reset the icon arrangement.

I've been very pleased and impressed with the storm so far. I didn't understand how cool SureType was, until I actually read about it. When I didn't understand it, I carelessly assumed it to be useless. I look forward to software updates in the future that will further enhance the experience. The tips about how to lock in the numbers screen when typing is a timesaver and it's great that double tapping the space bar adds a period in SureType.

Not tru, I was able to edit it by going to Set up --> Email Settings --> (select the e-mail address u want to edit) --> *now scroll to where it says* Signature.

I have mine set to *Sent via BB Storm* the astrik (sp) is actually included in my signature 'cause i didn't like how the signature just blends in with the body of the e-mail, so i put the astrik there..

4. Click on VOICE MAIL
5. Under "Password", enter two pauses by pressing BB button twice

I'm very interested in this trick...I've been doing this for many years under a different speed dial number (I always use the #8 cause of the "V" for voicemail) but I'd like to use the default #1...I can't seem to add the two "PP" for the pauses the way it is described in these directions...can someone help me out here? Thanks!

I found this to be true and if you add # after the number it's quicker starting up.

I could be wrong, but I don't think "completely false" is completely accurate. In fact, most of the Blackberry documentation for the other versions tells you to hold the escape key to close the browser. Don't see how it would be any different on the storm.
It appears that holding down the back button is a program-specific action. A program such as Weatherbug will close itself if you use the back button out of it, regardless of holding it down.

Then I stand corrected, and the mystery continues!

Just a note on background contrast. If you switch to the reverse mode so that background is now white with black and yellow lines, it annoying switches the colors of everything, photos included, if you have photos assigned to contacts. this would be so much cooler if it simply switched the main layout colors and left everything else the same.

i'm sure this will be addressed once new themes are developed.

When you select the icon and click on move you get a number of options. The folder called "home" is actually the home screen. So if you move the IM client to the home folder it will be on the home screen. Then you can move it where you want within the home screen.

I posted the same tip in response to a question a while back. It seems this only works with the Enterprise Server. FYI. BIS users still need to login to the link provided earlier.
