So... using your math skillz, negative numbers just mean values less than 1 Watt if your linear unit was based on watts... to be rid of uncertainty when the ref_unit = 1W, it is often written dBW... since there are no units attributed to the value displayed by BB, we don't know... It could also be dBm, which uses a ref unit of 1 mW. I don't really know what a logical value would be for cell phone signal power, so I can't say which it is.
Oh, and just to make this somewhat applicable to the thread... on the BB Tour the short cut is alt+NMLL
hmm.. mine is currently at -82... pretty crumby signal here I suppose.
