This was compiled from some earlier threads.... I keep it as a memo on my BB just in case:
Storm Tips:
Typing shortcuts: (type what is on the left of the = to get what is on the right)
br = (

Lt = time
mynumber = Phone number
mypin = Pin

Event Log -
in Landscape mode on the keyboard press & hold 123 key until lock appears, THEN press "/"/ & the logs will appear & you can delete them at will!!!
ALT-EACE is 2*92!!!!!
Follow earlier posts to put the cursor into positioning mode (it becomes a narrow blue rectangle). Position it over the character (or characters/words)you want to delete which then turn blue highlighted. Press "!?123" (credit to earlier post that this acts like ALT key of old) and then press the Backspace key. In this mode the Backspace key acts as a Delete key.
Open Messages -> Choose Message Options -> make sure the Confirm Delivery and Confirm Read are both set to NO.
This will keep your messages sent from sending them right back to you.
If you want to get a legacy application off of "Compatibility mode"(where the keyboard always shows, and the accelerometer does not function), do this simple change.
1) Options->Advanced Options->Applications
2) Highlight the offending application eg. Flycast
3) Blackberry key... Select "Disable Compatibility Mode"
That's it! Some applications work ok. Like Zip explorer and Flycast. Others just don't work. So, with trial and error you can make some of your legacy apps suck less!
somewhat of a geeky trick, but here it is:
1) Rather than looking at signal strength bars, you can change the display of the 'signal strength' to read in real numbers. While at the home screen, in landscape mode/qwerty, hold down the ALT key to lock it, then type !,"" The bars should change to read numbers. For the 'signal strength', if you are in the 100 area (that means -100 dBm), you will be transmitting at maximum power, and since coverage is hit and miss at this weak a signal, you may end up transmitting many times before the packets make it through. This might help explain any poorer than normal battery life.
2) To get the bars back: While at the home screen, in landscape mode/qwerty, hold down the ALT key to lock it, then type !,"" again.
#4357* + Send (Do this in the dial pad)
I don't know if this was posted but I had it in my contacts from my Samsung i760 and it worked on my storm. I have a contact called About Phone and i just call the number and get all the info you can ever want about your storm. It is like Status in the options but it give a lot more like IP address.
if you don't want to change your convenience key, you can swip your finger UP from the bottom on the screen in the contacts list. that brings up the keyboard.
OK so alot of people were complaining that due to the Storm not having a physical keyboard we were gunna loose shortcuts such as "Alt-Shift-H"
But that is not true... the truth is you can access whats known as the "Help ME" screen by simply following this sequence
while holding down the "Return Key"
press/push down the top left corner of the screen
then the top right corner
then the top left corner again
and then finally the top right corner a final time...
release the "return key" and viola you have the "Help Me" Screen
You can get xm radio by downloading ORB and uXM!
Theres a thread on it. search ORB
Try googling Blackberry Video Converter 1.13, It works pretty well.
1. if you are having problems sending or receiving e-mail goto to Blackberry Internet Service and 'send service books'
2. to wipe your handheld device goto options/general settings/ press balckberry button and select wipe handheld
OEM Motorola MicroUSB USB EMU MU Adapter for RAZR2 V8 V9 V9m Q9h model SKN6252 (mini to micro usb adapter for all of your old cables)
"Okay, I was listening to my mp3 on my Storm via an aux cable in my car. Again, the aux cable was plugged in my headphone jack and then into the aux in on my head unit. My phone rings, music cuts off, and I put it on speaker. The callers voice is played thru my car speakers and they hear me thru the mic on the phone. This has never happened before, thought it was pretty cool. Sorry if someone already pointed this out."
Even if you change the right convenience key, it is still the shutter button in camera mode. Too bad it doesn't work in video camera mode, no matter the settings.
