my blackberry tour is displaying the "sim card rejected" message on the top of the screen. i have verizon wireless and have my phone unlocked and my sim card activated for service abroad. i am currently in australia, so unfortunately the US solutions (i.e. switching to 1xev) do not help me. i have been here for several weeks and havent had any problems before. i left my phone charging overnight and in the morning the error message was displayed on the screen. is there a way for me to fix this problem myself or is there a way for global support to fix this? i really cant afford to wait the ten days for the sim card to be shipped internationally to me. thanks all

So, simple solution:

1. Manage Connections
2. Select "Mobile Network Options"
3. Network Technology: Change to 1XEV
4. Save

You won't get SIM Card rejected.

I have a Blackberry torch 9800
Yes i can go to manage connections, and to Mobile network options...but then the screen doesnt say Anything about "network Technology"
it says the following only.

Data serviceon /off)
While roamingon/off)
-----------------------
Mobile network: VodaCom-SA
Network section Modeautomatic/manual)
Network mode2G/3G/2G&3G)

Thats all the options i have... and my phone does the "Sim Card rejected thing.

You can use any Blackberry unlocking service to get the unlock code for your Blackberry Storm.
Online unlocking is fast and cheap...

Unlocking instructions for Blackberry Storm:
Insert a SIM card to the Sim slot of your blackberry Storm.

Go to "Manage Connections" and set all the connections off

Go to "Options" --> "Advanced Options"

Select "SIM Card".

Hold your BlackBerry Storm device
horizontally and click on the BlackBerry button to show keyboard

Type "MEPD"

Type "MEP2" or "MEPP2" if nothing happens
You should get a pop up says "Enter network MEP code".

Enter the unlock code of your Blackberry storm and Press "Enter".

Then you will get a "Code accepted" massage

Restart your BlackBerry Storm, Turn ON connections

And enjoy your unlocked Blackberry Storm
