Just take your time, be careful and find a spot where it starts to lift, then pry it up slowly. You don't even have to remove it completely if you can just get most of it up and leave a tiny edge still connected and bend the sticker up.

The sticker is thin and flimsy anyways. The simple re-orientation of the adhesive probably lets more light through than before.

When I loosened the screw on the left side(looking from the back) I get a sim card error message. Its no big deal cause its not needed with verizon but any ideas why this is happening? Also when I tighten the screw back up the error goes away.

Hmm. I'm getting the exact same issue. I can't believe that a few turns of the screw could cause the error to come up.

A soft reset makes it go away, but it comes right back after several minutes.

The same thing happened to my phone. Before I messed with the torque anymore I pulled the battery and the sim error was gone at reboot. The error has yet to come back and I haven't messed with the screws anymore.

I just kept the tweak and removed the sim card to get rid of the message. I wonder if there is a "perfect screw position" that would supply a good click without the sim error.

Well, a new issue has surfaced with mine. The screen stopped clicking at all, so I took the batery cover off and tightened the screws again and then backed em out a turn each again. The screen clicks fine with the battery cover OFF, but when I reinstall the cover the screen will NOT click unless the screws are all the way tight. Any ideas? I hope I didn't wreck it.

For those of you that don't have this torq wrench thing, I was able to use a very small flat-head screwdriver.

Anyways, I think while this may have worked pretty well on the opposite side of where those screws are, it still feels very inconsistent down in the bottom corner where the green phone button is.

Perhaps they overlooked needing these screws vertically?

I think it is unlikely the Sim error is related to the screws. Search this forum and you'll find discussion of both the cause and solutions to that problem.

I wonder if you unscrewed the screws so much to a point that the threads on the screw came out of the hole in the backplate so now it's just pushing the plate down without the actual screw going in. Do you know what I mean? Try (VERY GENTLY) wiggling the screw around carefully and slowly as you screw in and see if it will grab or makes a difference. BE CAREFUL AND GENTLE!

I screwed the screws all the way back in until they JUST got to where they were tight. Then I loosened them maybe 1/8th of a turn, barely breaking them loose. The screen was a bit better, so I went a half turn total next. Seems to be ok, I am going to compose a ton of email messages real fast on it just to see how it types and feels now. I think maybe I did loosen it too much, but it was only 2 turns, probably less than that. Thanks!

You may be right but I got this phone on launch day and didn't have the problem until I tweaked the screws.

i did this earlier today as well...

The non sticker (left side) screw i turned 1 full turn. The screw with under the sticker I ended up leaving at 1/2 turn from its original position. Its working better for me now then before 9which wasnt bad to begin with)

I used one of those small flat head screw drivers like you would find in an eyeglass repair kit. Fit in there and with alittle applied pressure it turns easily.
