Verizon should be pushing out the .113 update any day now, or you can try the leak of it. I have a link for it in my signature. HOWEVER you should do full backups first. Instructions for that are in the Storm Beta OS Forum.

Hey pkcable!
Nice to see a fellow Philadelphian with a Storm on crackberry! Anyway, now for my questions...
1) Is there anyway to PERMANENTLY remove a service book (and or the app it's attached to)? For example, I don't use Vcast, AIM, yahoo, etc., how can I terminate them so that when I do a battery pull (or you Quick Pull) they don't return?
2)Why do you recommend .113? Did you use .109? And if so, is .113 better, same, as stable (and why)? I had the bbcrackman hybrid before I went to .109, and .109 is clearly better. Advice?
3)Do you use any memory cleaning utilities (like logmaid, or others), or just clear your stuff yourself every day?
Thanks!!
Keep up the good work!

Fourth question...(LoL)
Is there a way to transfer all of my contacts to the SD card, and have the phone use contacts through the card rather than the device?
Thanks!

Keep up the good work! | 1. Possible but difficult, best bet is to just hide them, highlight the app, press BB, then select hide.
2. I like 109 too, and may go back to it myself, BUT I do like the new select tool. I tend to stick to the full releases also, but I did try the original Sith_Apprentice hybrid. Battety life and the camera are better on 109.
3. Yes I use logmaid, but I'm obsessive about things so I run my cleaning routine ALSO. Often I run it WITHOUT a pull, just to free up extra memory, but I do it with a pull at least once a day. Quote:

Thanks! | I don't think that's possible. I just double checked the settings area and could not find that option, but that would be handy for those of us with large address books.
To add to your first question, you should look in to a program written by one of the Crackberry mods (Pete6) called Crackutilities, and his other Crackmem. They let you hack in to the phone. USE WITH CAUTION! especially Crackutilities.

I bought my storm two weeks ago, and by some action of mine in the process of synchronizing the phone with my computer I turned something on or off, and now when I try to choose ringtone in Set Ringtones/Alerts there is no sound on any picked option, even when I press try it, I get the same result, no sound at all. On the other hand, I can hear the ringtones when I choose them through the Media application. I tried enything but it is always the same. Hope I will get some answers for this problem.

Just wondering, is it worth it to update to the newer OS for the storm?

If that does not work, come back and let me know, you may have to try reloading your OS, or trying a newer beta OS.
P.S. I have searched for a half hour and this is the best I can come up with right now. Try the battery pull and report back.

While there are still a few users around here that still run the last official (.75), and are happy with it, I have found that .113 has improved the functionality of the device immensely. I would recommend it, if you are comfortable with it.

Thanks again Michael! And I concur there is no good reason not to update to a leak. 113 or 109 are the best out there.
