Another option is to try DM version 4.6, for some folks that one works better.

i hope this is fixable!
hello,
I just updated to the .113 OS and all my contacts and calendar events are gone! I made sure to back up my phone prior to this update so i'm not sure what happened. There was an issue with Browser and Email but I solved that issue.
HELP!! - 05-17-2009, 02:31 AM #260
Thank you for all the wonderful Tip. I'm a new user to Blackberry device. I just got a storm 9530, unlock and update the OS to .141. Download and upload the At&t service book to the device. change TCP/IP's APN: wap.cingular and Username for APN:WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM, password: CINGULAR1. With all that steps followed, I can't use the Browser, ATT navigation, setup Emails, sign on to Yahoo IM, Yellowpage, and etc. I can't sign on to BIS because the device is already register and I don't have the LogIn information. I tried your data problem fix, Method 1, it says: Radio Data Activation: abort, ICMP Ping Echo:Abort, BlackBerry Registration: Abort, Connected to BlackBerry: Abort, and BlackBerry Pin-Pin: Abort. Please HELP!!! I read everywhere and still haven't find the solution for it. Thank you in advance for any tips.

Hook your device up to your PC and open Desktop Manager. Use the same function you did to create a backup, just use the "Restore" option this time. Your backup is named with the date you did the backup by default, usually in your "My Documents" folder. You will have all your contact info and calendar entries back. For some reason, it seems that .113 has a hard time doing the automatic restore on the upgrade, so a lot of people have had to restore manually.
Hope this helps. Report back if this didn't solve the issue.Twitter @michaelwpg

I am guessing your device still says "activation required". Try doing this, should solve your problem:
originally posted by pltaylor - If you are using an unlocked Verizon Storm and have "Activation Required" on your home screen or your phone number displays incorrectly, Dial # # 000000 (Send). In the Menu, change the mobile directory number to your phone number and select save. The device will reboot and activate/display the correct number.Twitter @michaelwpg

So I'm a complete n00b with any Berry but I needed to get the Storm for business reasons. Anyway, I'm trying to back up my info because a buddy of mine sent me an updated OS and I wanted to make sure my settings were the same. So the problem I'm having is that about 3/4 of the way through the backup I get "Unknown Error Occurred". Can anyone help me with this?

Try doing a reboot of your PC and a bettery pull on the device. Sometimes starting fresh with both will take care of the problem.
If not, you can also trying going into Backup/Restore>Advanced> and selecting the clearing the Browser Data Cache there as well.
If that still doesn't work, report back. I am digging around right now looking for similar problems and the solutions that have worked before.Twitter @michaelwpg

Quickpull should work, personally I tend to do the physical battery pull when I want a fresh boot, but the theory is sound.

Sounds like a particular database on your storm is corrupted.
The next step would be to take note of where the backup failed and then when you try again go to advanced options on the backup screen and uncheck (and yes you will lose all the info) that database. Then try the ones around it, if yjat don't work.
Tommy,
I had to delete one of your posts it contained info you should NOT make public, but Micheal and I both saw it and will try to help you.
You can also ask for help in the How to Get Full Data on ATT thread from pltaylor, he's MUCH more knowledgable on the subject. Just don't post that screen again.

Thanks for the suggestion. I save the new setting and the phone reboot. but I still can't get it to work. Do I need to have ATT send me a new service book. I was hoping your method of solving data problem works for me, because my phone is already registered and I can't get the login Info. I really need to get the email and Yahoo IM to work. Thanks so much
