Congrats on the New Storm. Start at the first of this thread. Download the Storm OS and the service books. After that it only takes about 10 min and you'll be good to go.

OK, so this was an interesting read. I am about to embark on converting a new and unloicked VZ 9530 to ATT. Is there any difference to accessing ATT on a "converted" 9530 to using an unlocked TM german 9500?? Does anything NOT work? I travel a lot internationally and ATT has an unlimited international data plan that appeals.

I appreciate all the hard work everyone has put into this project. Kudos to you all. Thanks in Advance

Smile So do you ever sleep...

Yes, as a BB newbie, I will Run the Steps and report back - are there any other threads I need to study in the forum??

Do I assume that the .75 is the most reliable OS for the Storm at this time??

Thanks again. More later

John A - Dallas.

Default Blackberrty Storm 9530 PIN FFFFFFFF

PLTAYLOR,

I bought a storm from some one, not sure it was for VZ or ATT. The phone works fine but I am not able to use INTERNET or emails. I believe the PIN FFFFFFFF is causing problem. Is there any solution to overcome this issue? I defined AP but no luck. Also browser icon is missing. I downloaded Opramini but still not able to access internet.
Please help.

4.7 Should be fine. I personally don't like it but a few people have said 4.6 wouldn't see their Storm. 4.7 sometimes misses the module. Just watch the summary window to be sure it picked it up.

The PIN is all F's? Does it show the Verizon logo at boot up? Ok First call Rogers and have them put you through to RIM. Ask them to verify the PIN IEMI/ESN numbers. If it checks out we'll see what we can do. Also what OS is on it?

Ok, try this go into address book, hit menu>SIM phone book>add to address book. you can assign them a speed dial if you like. see if this helps. If not it's hardcoded to the vendor.

Pltayor,

No it does not show any operator logo. It registers with Rogers and I can receive and make calls. I believe it means that IMEI is working fine? I am at work so do not remember but the battery cover shows a name embosed which starts with 'Q'' com. I remeber going to their website which provides backberry solutions and technology.

The Q is most likely Qualcom, the chip maker. The phone part will still work if the PIN is killed. Just no data function. It really sounds like you've gotten your hands on a pre production evaluation unit. Get Rogers to put you through to RIM tech support and have them run those numbers. If it was an eval unit, once the device is released to the public they kill the PIN's and there is nothing that can be done. So verify that first. I've never seen a PIN# like that. Good luck, let me know what you find out. Also, again what OS is on it? To find that go to options>about.
