pltaylor, I got his phone to send and receive calls and messages, but his internet isn't working. He switched to a BB Data plan a few hours ago, so we're good there. What else needs to be done to his phone to get the net working right? It will request the page, sometimes he will get half a page of data but then it will just stop. In the upper right it says "edge" instead of "EDGE" and I know thats a problem, but don't know the fix. If you have time to reply can you shoot me an email to curtright[at]gmail[dot]com? Thanks a lot.

edit: when I did the service book swap for tmobile, do I have to have his SIM card in? Only reason I'm asking is because he had it in his G1 while I was working on his storm.

Does anyone know if the "Wipe Handheld" process under the settings menu will screw up an unlocked Storm? I'd like to erase all my numbers and personal data to sell the phone, but I want to keep it unlocked. Any help?

If you are having issues with your e mail on your unlocked storm( error msgs, not being able to set up BB email on phone or my T Mo) simply put your sim in a T mobile BB then go to my t mobile on a pc, change phone profile. You will then be able to acess the device change options, put in your storms pin and MEID HEX(IMEI) now your in and can acess set up on your BB storm. i got the run around from CC but there is more than one way to skin a cat

I've got the phone connecting to the EDGE network, but it goes back and forth between edge and EDGE. Should I try installing another OS on the phone? The previous owner had it working perfect on AT&T.

Thanx a great deal. I just downloaded the gmail app until I try this out. Will give it a shot asap!

having trouble with my unlocked storm. I followed directions but Im getting prompts not discussed in directions. I get prompts such checking for updates, and application needs to be in mass storage mode. Can anyone help?

Ok after following everything this is where I'm at. When i log on to ATT BIS it asks me if i want to change pins from my bold to my storm. I pushed no because i'm not sure if it will let me switch back in the future.

This is strange because when i unlocked it for t-mobile it didnt ask me that.

have anyone had this problem?

I tried to change the device with the IMEI and PIN but got an error that that service provider is not supported. Called the business desk and they asked the tech department about 3 times and they say the can't or won't change it for me as the Storm is not supported by T-Mobile. Now what? I bought the doggone thing and I want to use it. I presume I can do all the tricks in the world to the device but the IMEI and PIN needs to be registered with T-Mobile... Please advise.

You are a GOD and our savior. The ATT fix worked like a charm. One email and sms note if you have a unlocked verizon storm, you will have to contact BB IT and have them call verizon to allow email set up and service book updates. I had the ATT rep call them and it was easy. I now have all functions working great. This fix is the greatest monopoly buster for the general public. Thank you very much

I was just given an unlocked BB Storm 9500. The problem I seem to have is that when I insert my SIM Card none of my contacts or even all of my stored text messages appear. At this moment in time I'm not really that intrested in surfing the net or reading e-mails. I would just prefer to do the basics which is to text and call my friends.

Edit: I'm using T-Mobile in the UK. I'm also wondering if there is a way I can get a contract with the phone? Because it would be cool to search the net and get a lot of minutes. PAYG is expensive.
