5. This is disabling your even log , also seems to save battery and increase speed. turn your phone to landscape mode , MENU> SHOW KEYBORED> TYPE /"/"/ > even log will then pop up >CLICK MENU CLEAR LOG > THEN MENU > PROPERTIES > CLICK ON THE FIRST ITEM IN THE LIST > MENU HIDE ALL TYPE.
after clearing the log, i press menu again but i dont see properties, all i see is "view, clear log, refresh, options, show keyboard, switch application, close"

thanks for bringing that to my attention , as much as i respect civic, i have to disagree. My brother and i both have the same phone set up , both running on .90 and he too said chaning it to e911 didnt change anything because he had no apps using it , i said ok . as the day whent on , we used to phone about the same, by night time my storm still had 63% battery life while his only had 42% it effect its.

ever played brickbreaker and notice the data recieving/sending arrow at the top right hand of your screen while in play? that's gps at work. turn that to E911 and it will increase the battery life and performance of your phone

Not necessarily. Blackberries are constantly sending and receiving data; this is not gps specific.

However, I will agree with sooks that running location on can have an adverse affect on battery life, especially if you run gps intensive apps like google maps or gps enabled weatherbug.

its more the process of it not having to write the code to the screen that saves lag. just like your icons there not gone , there are hidden and yet its faster.
