Default Worst Phone Ever

The power-save options turn the screen off before ANY webpage loads. You cant use the internet without getting black screens every time.

Basic operation (including keyboard layout) changes without your consent. This includes settings which you have customized.

You cant use the phone while its charging because of instantaneous bedside mode return.

Voicemail is held hostage. I need to check recent voicemail but its forcing me to address an already "saved" file. I want to click save but my keypad wont appear while im calling voicmail. If I do nothing VOICEMAIL HANGS UP ON ME. I cannot listen to my messages! It will not let me get past this one message I have already said keep 3 times.

voicemail requires a password when calling from MY phone? This is stupid! Especially more so when BB lauds their security so highly.

its glitchy as can be and doesnt wake up from powersave mode. (battery pulls are often faster than exiting sleep moden)

Super encryption means super slow data processing so use is slow and painful.

my phone shuts down the radio in low battery mode BEFORE mp3/smartphone features.

The storm is way behind in the app wars and its too late to catch up.

They install apps without your permission! (Youtube) This is a dealbreaker for me and I am now looking for other phones.

They also communicate to their servers without user permission (this makes whatever else you are doing lag)

And finally, the EULA arrangement when loaded with apps means that for any reason at any time your personal information can be sent to affiliate companies (including those outside of the United States) (Pandora has this I believe). Extra security doesn't matter when you have Eula's like these.

I will be terminating my contract as soon as I can. I know it will cost a lot, but in the long run it will be well worth it.

New thread, yes, but not a new poster. New account and nickname for one of the same trolls that haunt the forum. Rest assured.

This is the right place to do this. I forgot whatever other account I had but the phone was so bad that I felt I needed to return. All of my complaints are fully legitimate and calling me a troll shows your incredible ignorance and disdain at hearing anything other than praise for a piece of crap that just doesn't work. The bottom line is that it is NOT a good product.

No worries I will investigate when I get to a pc. I think another member created a special troll name but we have tools to find the original name. . If the person wishes to confess via PM I will let them off with a stern warning.

I find it funny that every one of the OP's issues are because of user error. Most can be fixed by learning to use the phone. Some people are too ignorant for that. I guess it's much easier to complain then learn though...

The OP IS correct this is the spot for a thread like this. The Storm does have it's issues and it's not for everyone. Many of us loved ours, warts and all, BUT at times it was tough love.

Using our Mod tools I could not find a match with another account, BUT I would suggest that the OP consider a name change anyways. To pick a more thoughtful (that a good word???) name email sitesupport(at)crackberry.com. We would LOVE to have you become a contributing part of our community, but we got to get you a real nick.

Half of the issues you posted about are simple things you could fix yourself, and the other half have next to nothing to do with the Storm itself. All your voicemail stuff, take up with Verizon. It's not RIM that makes your voicemail inbox and it's password, it's Verizon.

I think next time I run a red light I'm going to blame it on the city for not building roads that slow my car down.

Yea most of this can be changed with a simple change of the settings. Go into the settings and turn off automatically enter bedside mode when plugged in.

Also, what settings are changing themselves automatically? Is it your device settings or ringer profiles?

P.S. I really hope you weren't referring to me, PK. I think I've proven many times over that I'm better than that.

I have to agree on both sides that the Storm sucks and is good at the same time. It does business functions very well along with regular phone functions. It struggles with friendliness such as apps and what not. And the memory leaks are, for me at least, the most annoying thing about it. It seems to have a learning curve which some people don't want to go through. I say its an alright device but I know its just not for me since I want more fun it w/e you want to call it, like apps and everything. And I just get sick of having to go through fixes for problems that reoccur.

I agree. Almost every one of those issues is because of user error. They could easily be fixed if the OP would just take the time to learn about the features of the device.
