| | The wife just got a Driod X
What a nice phone. Has so many features that the S1 doesn't. I thought of getting the S2, but I know 2 people with them and their not happy. One phone constantly will send multiples of the same texts. Hangs when starting email. The other likes to reboot on it's own. Plus I didn't see any significant improvements over the S1. I'm it's all comes down to preference of what the user wants.
So, I'm thinking of getting one of the driods. Unless BB comes out with something better to offer.
We'll see.

Blackberry will NEVER come out with something better to offer. RIM is so far behind the curve it isn't even funny.

There is supposed to be a big news announcement from RIM on Tuesday. Personally, I think the only thing they will announce is the 9800 (essentially a Storm 2 slider (keyboard slides down in portrait orientation)).
It would be great if they had something else interesting to announce, but I don't see them announcing something that appears to be imminently released AND announce something cool like the S3/S4 (S3 appears to be a S2 refreshed with 512K RAM for OS6 and S4 appears to be a Droid Eris equivalent with a 1GHZ processor and (MAYBE) up to 1GB RAM) which would take the steam away from the 9800.
I guess you could say I don't expect a lot unless having a Storm with a keyboard is exciting...

it s too bad they don't deveolp a more versitle phone. My company just appoved supporting the iphone and driod, so most of the BB users are bailing. I like the Storm, but after 2 years, they just aren't giving anything better. Every Os release still has some of the same bugs the older version did. I think it's time to move one, too bad, I like the BB but I would like my hone to do more.

Just do it.
I got a 8530 after it was released, because I disliked my S1 then I got a Droid in April.
Oh, and yes....I really did that to my S1.

I am not a touchscreen user. I had the envTouch and decided that was enough.
I really like BB and it does all I need it to do. I am not into playing games or watching videos that much. I now have the Bold and I love it. I am looking forward to seeing what the 6 OS and the new webkit browser will bring to BB. But I am not having any issues with the Bold's performance at all.

The droid can use voice active texting. How friggin cool. I'm sold. The more I use my wifes droid, the more I dislike my BB. It can do so much. It's nuts. I love it.

I went from Storm to Droid Incredible and not looking back at all! My wife has a Tour and is planning on getting the Droid 2, she wants a keyboard. At first she did not want to leave BlackBerry but after seeing my Droid in action she is sold. Just doing simple things like checking into foursquare, I am done and on my way while she stands there fighting her Blackberry and getting the clock of death as she calls it. The nice thing about Android is that it works as advertised, Blackberry always had bugs/kinks that we could never get worked out.

I got the Incredible on launch day, so X was not available yet. It was definitely time, I was about to kill my Storm, it was rebooting multiple times a day, on top of being SLOW with a memory leak, so I was also pulling the battery multiple times a day. Not sure which I would get, if I had the choice today (X or Inc). I do not regret the Inc one bit. Another thing I had something like 11 apps on my Storm and it was killing it, now I have 57 apps (according to appbrain) installed on my Inc and it does not phase it at all! One note, I did have to pull the battery on my Inc once since launch day because it froze, but it takes like 30 secs to boot so no biggie, especially compared to the Storm.

I like the Incredible over the X, the X is too big for me and I enjoy Sense UI.

Scott | These "Big Announcements" are crap, nothing even remotely "big" about them. Blackberry's never change they got the trackball/pad right in the middle and a small screen with the same exact OS across the whole line. I've noticed every new blackberry look exactly alike, good design team right? No. People like change and RIM doesn't want to invest in change. I've seen OS 4.3, 4.5, 4.7, 5.0, and now the dramatic jump to 6.0 and guess what! They all look alike and suck up all the memory and require "battery pulls", which is complete garbage. Rim doesn't care about innovation, because you know what they have many businesses hooked, but soon that will all change.

I am thinking of jumping ship once my contract is up in a few months...I will probably wait to see what the fall/winter phone line up looks like. Possibly go with an android OS based phone. Unless the iPhone makes it way to verizon |

I also went from the Storm to an Incredible, and the difference is unreal. Now, I loved my Storm when I first got it since it was my first touch screen and smartphone. Then, the leaks and hybrids from this site helped me to put up with it for a year. But now that I have the Incredible and it's rooted, and it's awesome! If BlackBerry would step it up on the software side, they would be much better. As previously mentioned, businesses and those who got a Berry early this year will keep them going until they take a chance on one of the other OSs.
