Default Storm vs Droid

Does anyone think the droid is better? and why? I was at verizon looking for a new phone (my storm1 bricked somehow and they didn't want to fix it since I still had a free upgrade) and I was playing around with the storm2 and droid.. I liked the storm alot better than both and I've only had my storm for a month or two (it was pre owned, about a year old) Am I missing something that makes the storm2 and droid better than my storm1?? This phone is awesome once I found out that if I got themes for 5.0 instead of 4.7 it'd stop losing memory

So are you saying they will give you a droid as a replacement? I had so many problems with my S1 the past few weeks they offered me a S2 as replacement or a droid at a discount. I was eligible for a 1 year upgrade price, needless to say I bought the droid

I just got the Droid a few days ago, and as a Storm owner since day one, I have to say the Droid is MUCH better than the Storm!!

For over a year I had to deal with a phone that felt like it was constantly in Beta release (which it actually was anyway). I went through workaround after workaround just to get it to work how it should have worked.

But after 3 days of the Droid there's no going back!! It's hard to say what specific things are better, but everything just works smoothly and intuitively. And a lot faster too.

IMHO the Droid is a no-brain winner-

My newest number one selling point is this one app called "PhoneMyPc" ..

I can control all of my home/work computers from anywhere in the world with no monthly fee.

I mean its sooo good on the high-resolution screen that I actually was doing some 3d modelling on it for an emergency client fix! .. Flash sites come in great, i can watch videos at 30fps over wi-fi, and i have the power of all my PCs at all times.

and that's really just icing on the cake.

The only potential deal breaker is droid is not a world-phone.. and if you deal with blackberry servers at work every day you're in a bit of a compatibility bind.

but otherwise the Droid is an amazing stable reliable device that trumps the Storm in about every way-- totally my opinion

User preference. I've had my Storm since the beginning and have had few problems once I got off .75. Did have one hardware failure, but Verizon made it good by giving me a new phone. So if you like the droid, go to the droid. If you like the storm go to the storm. Only you can make the decision. But I expect your post wasn't motivated by indecision.

Its not even a contest. Droid and Storm 2 are miles apart from 9530. Take that from someone who's had the storm since day 1. Storm 1 sucks.

Well, I unbricked my storm1 over the weekend, so I don't have to upgrade anymore, but I didn't really find the storm 2 to be much different and the droid just seemed like a cool thing at first but wouldn't be as useful later on kind of thing.. I am assuming the droid won't work in Japan, correct? I may be spending a year there, so if that's the case I may go with a storm 2, but how would you say the storm 2 is different than the storm 1?

The Eris is the best Android phone on Verizon right now (and better than the Storm2 also, IMO) until the new Passion/Dragon/Bravo gets here. The Eris is only $99 too!

The Motorola disappointed me...

Yes this is something in my update to my post "Droid Schoold the Storm..." that I forgot. The screen rez on the Droid is just incredible and registers finger taps so precisely. On a webpage's initial load zoom I can easily tap into a text field without zooming in. Just seems so much more precise than the Storm 1.
