Default Storm rant room

Looking at the current Blackberry lineup and the increasing quality issues more and more people seem to be having with the more modern Blackberry lineup (best example ever, Storm) makes me wonder if the Curve 83XX is the last diesel (tough and buff) Blackberry RIM made?

I don't think anyone can really argue that the older Blackberry models such as the 8700 were tanks. That thing could take a direct hit from a grenade and after the dust settled you could pick it up and make a call lol. In my mind it seems that the Curve 83XX is the last of the Blackberries that had the least hardware issues and could take a lickin' and still keep tickin'.

What you guys think? Sound off.

I baby my 8330, but it has never let me down. I do not doubt that it could take a beating, but I care not to put that to the test. I'll take your word for it. As far as it's capabilities, it has helped keep me organized so that I may be productive personally as well as professionally. It's never complained, called in sick, made any excuses, nor has it missed any deadlines. If you ask me, it's not a Dr. Jeckly/Mr. Hyde device, but rather a Beauty and the Beast type.

I've used my 8330 for about 10 months and have had very little trouble with it. I dropped it a couple of times on pavement and couldn't even find the scratch. These seem as indestructible as the 8700.

my 8330 failed me last month when the POS charging/usb plug decided to just pop out on its own

not while i was removing a cable or when i was messing with it but literally i pulled it out of my pocket and it was half hanging out. needless to say i had to go through the insurance bullsh1t and pay 50 dollars to get a replacement. i was pissed

I hope the tour 2 can put up with my hard use like my 8330 has. I am really tough on my phones. The 8330 is the first phone that hasn't died on me for one reason or another after 6 months. I drop it all the time, get nasty scratches all over it then every few months I put a new housing on it and it looks brand new. What a device

Ever since the 8900, the quality at RIM went down. If you search a bit you will find tread about louse battery doors & keypads. My 8320 had none of those issues.

Mr. Marco, you have repeatedly demonstrated you have no interest in a discussion beyond an opportunity to complain about the Storm.

Your welcome to that discussion, here.

This is the second time that a thread of mine regarding the ENTIRE blackberry lineup is put here because I mention the Storm once as an example. At least all the people who have posted here know that and have mentioned other blackberry models.

O well, watcha gonna do these days....

That is the definition of trolling. Intentional or not, that is what you are.

BlackBerry users are not interested or impressed by your "... doesn't blow my mind anymore" attitudes.

Within reason, you are free to say what you want. It is my job to insure it is presented in the right place.

We both have our right to disagree, which I do. And I will leave it at that. And for the most part it seems Blackberry users posted their friendly comments in this thread.
