Question Storm does not work under Windows 7

Has anyone been able to get the Storm to work under Windows 7?? I have tried back version from 5 to 4.7 but nothing seems to work. I have not been able to find any positive info except notices that Win7 will not work. The Official Blackberry site is not much help either, no info at all.

Any help appreciated.

Mine works perfectly in win 7. runnin official vzw .328. Didnt have to do any tricks or workarounds to get it to work....just plug n play. only thing I did was a clean install of 7 and not upgrade from vista.

I never had a problem with Windows 7. I've been using the beta all summer and my wife has the final version of 7 on her computer using it to load her curve.

I started with clean 64 bit install on a first tier laptop and had problems. RIM's forums suggested reloading the OS. I found the 5.x OS from Verizon and then all was fine _until_ I loaded VZAM. VZAM 7 and Storm 5 don't work, Verizon is aware. You have a short term fix for tethering by using Windows DUN when the Desktop program is open (creates the modem, virtual serial ports).

I'm not happy about the fooling around but loving the phone with OS 5.

Sounds to me like it's the 64bit win7 that's giving problems. I just loaded up my desktop manager and couldn't sync with my phone.

imwjl,
What exactly did you do to straighten out your issue?

Thanks,
Mike

Also using Win7 x64 and no issues. Again, clean install no upgrade BS. I had more issues under XP home on my netbook then any of my other systems.

This isn't a upgrade either. Brand new laptop. All of my driver's are loaded properly. As soon as I click synchronize it starts, then 2secs later it's done and nothing completed.

My Storm 1 running .328 runs perfectly fine on Win7X64. I've never encountered any problems yet, it connects/disconnects just fine.
