Stay away camera, I don't want to use you!

Why is it half the time i'm typing on the keyboard, the camera shows up. But, when it does, it doesn't take up the full screen, it shows up as a small box taking up about a corner of the screen. It's real annoying, making my text message close and have to retype it. Also, when there are updates for the phone, where/how do I get them?

I'm ebarassed to say, I have no clue. I just got the phone, I don't know how to check the OS, the build, updates and all of that. I'm still learning

Ah HA! This same thing has been happening to me! I just posted in the Rant section about it.

I'm a total Blackberry/smart phone n00b sooo I went into the "about" and it says: v4.7.0.75. Is that what you're asking about?

options->go to about and it should be the 2nd to 3rd line down starting with a v.

Yes. You may be accidentally hitting your soft key that brings up your camera while you type. Just a thought. I have done that before.

try changing your right convenience key.

That's not it, well not for me anyway. I don't touch that key at all. I thought that was it at first, but I've narrowed it down to the vowel keys.

Meh, I'll try changing the convince key anyways.

Its the .75 Version. Yes I am aware that it is the OFFICIAL version but .85 is a lot more solid and faster. And I do not have this issue.

Yeah, I just did another test after changing the convince keys. The the little 1/3 screen camera issue is still happening once a vowel is held for too long.

@HopHead: How do I upgrade to the .85?

Just for friendly reference here's how you can find your software version and platform build.

Options > About

And you'll find it on the first screen.
The sofware here is underlined in Red and the Platform Build is underlined in Blue .(See Image Attached)

The reason you want to know the Platform build is because they when in beta they have diffrent platforms. so it's good to know where you are in the Beta.

After you are done using the camera, use the close button from the menu instead of the red end button, this seemed to fix the same problem for me. Maybe it will work for you too?
