Speaker phone issue

I tried searching but wasn't sure how to word it. My speaker phone volume is distorting my external speaker. I think i've found the issue, but can't fix it. When in a phone call, and on the speaker, the small phone icon next to the call timer has red volumes waves, similar to the red waves for the "loud" phone profile. My wifes storm has normal white ones. Anyone know how to change this setting?

I have not experienced this but you might try: Click Green phone call button. Click CALL LOG button in middle top of screen. When you are in your CALL LOGS press the BB MENU button. Choose OPTIONS; ENHANCED AUDIO. By PHONE CALL AUDIO experiment with different settings. I use BOOST BASE and then my speaker is louder, but you might try treble or normal. Hope that helps.
