Default Sorry Storm

I thought I needed to get this off my chest. I am the first to defend the storm-(original) and have always loved it since I got it for x-mas two years ago, but im sorry to say that blackberry might lose me as a customer. I am always reading the forums to see whats new and what not, and I came across the storm 3 forum which excited me. However, after thinking about its release date and wanting to get it, and even happy that I didnt upgrade to the storm 2, I realized for what? Unfortunately, Blackberry is and seems to always be behind the smartphone race. I look at how the droid has simply brushed the storm aside. If you noticed the storm 2 commercials are almost non existent. Then i looked at the new nexus one and seen what its capable of doing and realized Blackberry will never be that revolutionary smartphone. Granted its a great business phone, but now at days smartphones are not all about business. The app world and availablity lacks and the prices are ridiculous. And sadly enough, when the phone is of higher standards,so will all of the the other smartphone companies. Keep in mind I am only talking about touch capability blackberries. I just wish blackberry was one step ahead of the others.

I feel your pain. I actually liked the storm enough that I came back to it after migrating to the tour. I just love the size of the screen. The major deal breaker for me is the push mail. If android would come up with that I may defect as well. The internet is slow on the storm and I don't really have enough BBM folks to make that an issue. If the android came out with a creat calendar feature push mail and some of the other "business" phone functions I could see myself converting to android.

That being said I would really rather that RIM fix the browser and slick up the phone a bit to add more "consumer" aspects to it so I can stick with my berry. Seriously who would have thought that we would put so much thought and energy into a phone LOL

I'm skipping the Droid and Nexus One - already said no to Storm2 even though I was one of the folks who got the early upgrade VZW mailer immediately as it came out...and I'm holding out for Summer 2010 - VZW iPhone Functionality and style, here we come. Screw BB.

In 6 months much will change, this is an exciting time to be alive. Keep an eye on Engadget for where things are headed...

I wonder how long before Wi-Max is available on a cell phone?

Rants like this really bother me. Up here, you know, where the rest of North America is, there are several Storm 2 commercials, and not one Droid advertisement.

You need to remember that just because something is 'non-existent' down there, doesn't mean it's the same everywhere else in the world.
