This has nothing to do with the device or software, and everything to do with the people on here. Correction - some of the people.

When someone complains, how does branding their complaints "whining and snivelling" help anyone? Does it help them learn? Make them more open to using the device? Or help any messages with suggestions for solutions get through to them better?

Does a kneejerk "it's user error", "you obviously don't understand the device", etc. response make anyone more receptive to your comments? Does it help RIM understand where it can improve its products? Does it really make you sound like you know anything?

Nope - it makes you sound like an immature, ignorant, arrogant a&& with no manners or empathy. And unfortunately, it makes the Berry community as a whole sound like that.

So leave the attitude at home. You'll sound more intelligent, win more converts to Berries and improve the overall Berry experience. You may even learn something.

I have to agree. I absolutely detest the people who respond to a question in the wrong forum with an immediate putdown that this is the wrong forum and then chastising the person. It would be so much easier to direct the person to the correct place by providing them with a link and then welcoming them to the community. I don't have a problem pointing out the error, just the way it is pointed out and then not offering a possible solution.

Someone's taking the ridiculousness that is the Rants and Raves forum way too seriously. The antics of ranters and ravers are entertaining and keep me coming back. It's like a bad car crash, you just can't help but look.

YOU don't come here to actually assist anyone here, drop some knowledge that would prove to be beneficial...NO! I've come to realise this is much of the point of the forums in the 1st place...

You come here for "THE LULZ" factor, as if people's ignorance or misfortune are here for the taking or to exploit -only because you know something (allegedly/purportedly other's do not)

People post here because they are unhappy.
For whatever reason, i.e; they lack the efficacy to articulate why they feel "The BB Storm SUCKS!" -or whatever the case...

It is in that moment you can either assist the community?
OR be a Doosh. I've been that doosh, preying on someone who knows a bit less than I....This does not denote user error, nor stupidity....It means they need to learn something new...Everyone can be taught something new.

There are so many threads on these boards explaining how to operate and maintain your storm that one really needs to make a conscious choice to NOT read all the information available on this site and others.

User error doesn't mean that a person is stupid, it implies that they are intellectually lazy. Clearly they aren't using the search feature or reading the HUGE volume of information available. I didn't become an elitist snob overnight, and many of the other elitists jerks on this site didn't either. They became elitist jerks because they took the time to READ, LEARN, and UNDERSTAND their device.

It may appear callous to make snide remarks when people post about all the problems they have with their phones, but honestly, so many of these posters just don't do their homework.
