Java Error & it wont record info in Call Log

OK,

I have the storm 9530 from Bell, Operating system 4.7.0.76; and it has always worked pretty good.

I recently went into options & did the "Check for Upgrades" and it downloaded 4.7.0.76. I also recently put on the eBay app & the flixster movie app.

nyways when I do a battery pull, and my phone reboots I get this error:

Uncaught exception:
java.lang.NullPointerException

My phone will also not record any new information in my call log now.

what can I do to fix this

I installed the desktop manager and it recommended going back to operating system 4.7.0.148 ; So, I did this & every thing is back to normal!!!
