Default I need help to decide Curve 8530 or Storm 9530?..

Please I need help in making a choice, Curve 8530 or Storm 9530.. I have to make a choice today... I have a Curve 8330 and didn't have any problems with it. I am not too sure about a touch screen. Would someone please give me some pros and cons. By the way I have Verizon as my wireless service. Thank you very much for all the help.

I would go with the curve because the storm 1 is a mess. The Tour would be the best phone to go from a 8330 though.

Don't buy a Storm1 if possible, it is extremely buggy (no matter what OS is available today), basically a POS. You can't multitask, web browsing sucks, and you will find nit picky things through your experience.

Get the Curve 8530.

I love my Storm 1. It certainly ISN'T a mess.

Looking ahead to replace it next month.. I had much the same dilemma that you have: Curve 8530, Tour 9630, or Storm 9550?

The curve screen is just too small.. and the S2 isn't enough of an upgrade from my S1 to spend the money. The Tour isn't any better either... sheesh.

Now, I hear that RIM is releasing the Essex 9650 next week to VZW and Sprint. It has as much memory as the S2, and has a faster processor than the 9630, plus it has a track pad.

Looks like it's gonna be the Essex.

Having gone from the storm 1 to the storm 2 I truely believe it is a wonderful upgrade and I would go with the storm 2.

It does get a little time to get you used to clicking the screen and typing (that's what eveyone ends up saying). I for one picked up on it real quick. I really enjoy usuing this phone, I started off with OS .75 on this phone and .328 made a big leap forward. The only issue with the S1 is the memory which you don't have to worry about if you get the storm2. The web browsing is slow on all blackberrys not just the storm. I use opera and it renders pages real quick. The only reason I would get a storm and its a major reason in my opinion is the screen size.

My sister has the tour and I played around with it and liked it as well. Its just the screen that's the killer.

Final conclusion on my behalf I don't regret in getting the storm at all. I was planning on upgrading to the storm2 this month but I'm holding back to see what the storm3 is going to look like. At the end of it play with both phones at the store or get the storm use it for 29 days and if you don't like it return it and get the curve or the tour, or just wait it out and are what else comes out.

if its for personal use, i suggest looking at android also. the droid and eris are both good phones, and with the nexus 1 and countless other android devices coming out march and april, blackberry will become obsolete as a consumer device.

if you want it for work, the 9550 is a good phone, the new curve is nice, but i haven't read much on it as far as hardware and performance specs. if the new curve has a newer processor and more app memory than the tour, i'd say go that way.

don't get the tour or the storm 1, they're gonna be discontinued pretty soon, or at least forgotten when it comes time for software upgrades.
