Default I am so tired of the RANTS

Even in the RANTS forum I am getting so sick of it..............

Stop bashing BB products. All vendors have issues even the venerable iPhone has a lot to be fixed. That's why people Jailbreak it, to gain access to functionality that Apple didn't want them to have, such as keeping the backlight on when it's connected to external power.

BB is no different than any company and aside from being a little behind the curve with all of the bells and whistles and slow internet browsing, they make very solid products.

So if you want another platform to try, go ahead and have fun. If it works for you that's great, but stop bashing BB - which by all accounts is the ultimate email machine and has the best push email in the industry

Just my 2 cents..

-Jeff

There's the best part.

Unless, of course, you fancy being able to read the whole email message, and in a decent looking HTML format at that.

HTML email is so declasse. If it weren't for Microslop, nobody would even use it. Nobody uses it because they consciously choose to, only because it's the default and 99.9% of people aren't even aware of anything that happens after they press the Enter key.

I set up all my email to be text only. HTML email is a waste of bandwidth and CPU.

Best mail in the industry is a joke. Maybe ten years ago. Not anymore!

I have five email accounts and I want to see the IMAP folders on each so I can sort & organize my email with filters and whatnot like a civilized human being. Which platform makes this easy, and which makes this difficult, expensive, and a pain in the ***?

Agreed, the lack of IMAP folder support is bizarre and makes managing email difficult.

I mitigate a lot of this by using a desktop email client in addition to my handset. That way, I never miss an email, and can respond to anything wherever I am, on time. If I need to go back to the archives I have them available on my network.

Given that normal email services have practical limits to how much mail they can store (ok, not gmail which I don't use anyway, but almost everything else) it doesn't really make sense from a management or security standpoint to leave your mail on some server somewhere just because you might need a 3 year old email on your phone. When it gets to my desktop it's saved forever and I don't have to rely on the mail server except to deliver my mail. I prefer to archive it myself.

I would say the Iphone does what it is programmed/designed to do ALOT better then blackberry(more specifically the storm) does what is it programmed/designed to do.
