Unhappy Finanlly Fed up with the Storm

I have been on Traveling like crazy the last 2 day. Using the phone for all of its features. Tethering, GPS, Email, Sms, Calls, Web, Google maps. The phone memory has been dropping crazy, I have been doing 4 battery pulls in a day or more. After you disconnect from from tethering and I loose my Data (EV goes to ev) connection and I have to turn the signal off and back on. Has just been really annoying and not what a phone should be. It really makes me miss my Curve.

I am also on my 6th device for different issues. The one I have now gets screen click issues after a day of use and I have to bend it backwards to get all the screen clicking again. I will be in contact with Verizon soon about all my issues. I would hope they would do something for me, And after having the Storm I will not go back to a older device. If not I will be canceling my 4 lines with them and going to another carrier. Maybe get the Bold. Its really hard for me dealing with this phone as I am trying to get my new business off the ground and have crazy phone problems.

    a) Did you upgrade your OS?

    b) Have you tried any of the screen click fixes? 6 returns is excessive and makes me think it's you, not the phone

I am on the new verizon OS. And had many other beta OS

And I have tried a few fixes but I do feel like when I buy a Phone I shouldn't need to put cards in it. I have had about 4 that clicked perfect. And the one I have now did click the best out of the ones I had until I used it for a month..

Dump it and get the tour. I got sick of having to press the screen two or three times just to get a dial pad that didn't register 50% of the time. Yes I was running .148 official from Verizon.

Some of you Storm users are the most patient people ever with your multiple replacements. I am actually pretty excited to get mine back on Monday.

At some point you gotta give up. 4 replacements was enough for me. i dumped it on ebay while it was still worth something. as soon as the tour or storm 2 is released these first generation storms are going to be worthless. rim really crippled it when they only gave it 128mb of ram and whoever decided to do that is an 1diot. the bold is in the same boat.

I would not risk taking the warranty sticker off just to try. This device is to buggy for that.

why, it doesnt void the warranty. I would rather fix it this way than put a sticker, velcro, dime, sheet metal, plywood, whatever else you can think of in there to "fix" the screen issue. At least the torx fix actually does something to make it better without adding some useless thing that doesnt belong in there in the first place. Maybe its just me, Im picky I guess but would you just slap some duct tape on your exhaust pipe if you had a leak or would you actually get it fixed the right way.

Then what is the point of the sticker. And I am prob more picky to you. I expect the device to work not have to do anything to make it function like I was told it would.

Any way I am not really complaining about just the screen click. Its more of the fact this phone can not handle heavy use like a BB should for business. Its made for people that want the Iphone, not for business users. I'm really looking into the Pre or Tour. I really like a big screen though because I use google maps a lot

the point of the sticker is to detect water damage. There is one on the battery as well.

If you want the pre, get ready to slip a piece of paper in the back just so that it doesnt reboot when you slide it

I'm not going to call you a liar, but I text 100-200 times a day and about 30 emails a day and constantly surf the net or play media in my car or while sleeping.

WTF are you doing to bust 6 screens...seriously it makes me think of you putting unnecessary abuse on the phone

I never said I busted 6 screens. I had one that the top buttons just stopped working. Also had one that had no signal. Also had one that always rebooted. I have had the phone since the 21st when it came out. I have been traveling like crazy and the phone can't keep up. Drove around 3000 miles in 5 days and the phone keeps dropping my EV(data) service, I am sitting in the hotel and make a phone call then go to look at something else and I have no Data and have to reset the signal.

I have come to believe that the Storm is for some people but not for others. It's a unique device. I like mine and could only think about a move up (to a Storm2 for example). I've had it since release. My first one worked great until I lost it two months ago. I have had no problems with the replacement.

If you have gone though 6 phones in less than a year, you really need to consider another device. It must be driving you crazy. It would me!

the only time I'll give up my storm and that's when they release the storm2 or if apple comes to Verizon. in fact I'll buy both storm2 and the iphone (if the iphone comes to verizon)

I am going to wait for the tour and then call verizon with all my complaints and ask it they will change my device. Most likely though they will try to put me into a older model like the Q or something ridiculous
