S2 owner...
What could you possibly be talking about? If you were soooooo disillusioned with your Storm experience, WTF did you get a Storm2 for?
You need to go read the 9550 forum and you'll find that the overwhelming consensus is that the S2 is the device that the Storm should have been from the beginning. Not only that, you'll also find that the vast majority of S2 owners think their S2's "rock".
Not meaning to go off on a rant here, but... Why in the world would RIM/Verizon give anyone who voluntarily upgraded to a device they were certain they weren't going to like a "free" upgrade? What planet are you living on? There's this little thing called the free market system, I don't know, you might even have heard of it. In this system, consumers normally patronize vendors that they trust and use products from those vendors for a certain fee. If you don't like a certain product or service provided by said vendor, (and here's the tricky part so pay attention), [B]they don't use them[B].
But as for your idea... GOOD ******* LUCK! The rest of us are laughing our backsides off right now (just so you know).
