Dang, I wish RIM would just put out an OS that worked all they way for S1! How many of you are still waiting for that to happen? Do you think S2 owners will get it first because they seem to have lots of issues hardware and software wise reading the posts. Some people are working on 3rd or 4th S2 and still loving it! It's like this on most of the sections in the forum, a lot of folks have a grass is greener on the other side mentality regardless of their device.
There are issues with the Tour, Bold, Storms, and faulty devices do come out...for some reason some folks (seemingly like yourself), think that this problem is only prone to RIM...do you guys not have friends with iPhones? I have friends with iPhones and Blackberries alike...I can think of many who've had faulty devices...heck my roommates iPhone 3G refuses to connect to our WiFi (mine does just fine) and he can't load webpages, apps, emails, etc even though he has full signal. It will also randomly disconnect and reconnect to his bluetooth stack in his Infiniti...I also own an Infiniti and the bluetooth on every Blackberry I've owned has worked flawlessly. The Apple Store recently tried giving my roommate a new SIM card, the problem persists. Granted this isn't an AT&T service problem as my other friends with iPhones can load pages and what not just fine.
This is just one example of a few other issues and bugs that iPhones may have due to just getting a faulty device. Apple did say they would replace his iPhone under warranty. He also uses a Blackberry for work thankfully that loads emails just fine since he gets a ton of them a day.
Ironically, no one was really gaga over my Storm1, but even my friends with iPhones, after playing with my Storm2, have commented on how nice it is and how much they like it. Another friend of mine was going to get a Tour but after playing with my Storm2 after I got it, commented on how much better it was than my Storm1 and got the Storm2 instead. She's had it for about a week now with no complaints.
I don't know why people expect an OS to be perfect...no matter who makes the OS, there is no such thing as something that is all things to all people, this goes for any product. I've never used ANYTHING that was 100% bug free...and the only bug I'm experiencing on my Storm2 is the fact that homescreen icons don't update. No sticky keys, no random dimming or reboots, and I've over 30+ apps on my device.
