Click/Touch Screen prob:HELP!

Hi this is my first post here so bear with me please. I've had my Storm 9530 for almost 2yrs now and for a week now my touch screen is just blank. it was working okay and in the middle of typing something it just went pfft....black screen. I've tried everything I can think of and I got it to come back once but only for a minute. Has anyone else had a problem like this?? BTW it's not the battery b/c it still powers up, the right side button still activates the camera and left side button activates voice dialing....Before I head to Telus any help or comments would be greatly appreciated!

I will get this blank screen once in a while just lately. Backlight will be off and when I touch the screen to use the phone, it's a dark screen, sometimes with a small down arrow on the side like a scroll arrow. The screen doesn't "wake up" so i power off. When i powered on today it had an error about bbm and an uncaught exception. i couldn't open my messages folder at all. i did a battery pull and now it's working fine. this is odd.
