Cannot Get Voice Dialing to Work

I have a Storm 9530, v5.0.0.328.

I have been generally very happy with the phone over the last 2+ years.

However, I'm pulling my hair out over the Voice Dialing feature. I cannot get it to work consistently. I have scoured over the message boards to try to find a fix but have not found anything. I have tried.

OS upgrades
Battery pulls
Reload Contacts
Voice Adaptation
etc...

I would say 75% of the time, the phone gets stuck in "initializing" mode after I say the name of the contact/number to call. It requires me to start over again and manually key in the number or contact.

I spend a lot of time in the car on the phone and would really like to get this feature to work.

Is there an update to the Nuance software vSuite software that could work? Is there another voice dialing app out there that I could buy?
