Not in Opera. Options>screen/keyboard>left side convenience key opens>virtual keyboard. This way I can open the keyboard anytime I want to without going to the menu screen.

Just reinstall opera 5 and turn inline editing on and your browser should work fine when you enter an address in and click go.

And for all the droid comments I went into a Verizon store the other day and compared my storm using opera 5 to the droid browser and they were virtually identical. So I guess using a storm with opera you have a browser just as good as the droid but still have a true messaging capable phone for business users.

Good analysis despite being depressing. I suppose RIM could have gotten a clue a decade ago and decided to add a usable browser to their road map. I mean WTF you didn't need to be Nostradamus to see that. And to still not have a browser is quite comical, unless your on RIM's product strategy team.

If you don't mind not having the keyboard show up when you hit a URL, or any of Opera's other numerous flaws.

When you try to open a link from SMS, email, or BBM, you can't default it to opera. You have to default it to the bb browser.

don't say copy and paste because with this touchscreen selecting a url without anything around it is another ten seconds on something that should be instant.

to my knowledge it's a storm 1 with a better clickscreen and no light leaking out, and a newly placed speaker, but with the same ty everything else.

So...... how many will be downloading PocketFox? (Firefox Mobile)

I will be, the instant I find a download button for the Storm.

I don't know, I must have one of the few working versions of opera 5 on my storm as the keyboard pops up whenever I click on a field that requires input and copy and paste has never been an issue either. As far as links I agree that they default to opening in the BB browser but that has never been an issue for me. I thought before going to .328 that the links were defaulting to opening in opera but it has been a while so I am not sure about that.

I was just trying to help you out and let you know that it might be the settings which were causing your problems. If you want to give opera 5 another try and you want some info on the settings let me know. Otherwise best of luck with what ever browser/phone you decide to go with.

True that. (Sorry for the delayed reply.)

RIM programmers are worried about secure BES email. Everything else is secondary. Well... users who are interested in a solid, fast browser are going to be using Android soon.
