| | Bestbuy Employee Ruined my Storm as she literally poured ZAGG liquid at it
I am happy with my storm, happy with ZAGG and ZAGG respected their warranty and sent me a new one. I came to Bestbuy for help, to be on the safe side.
The lady in Bestbuy sprayed my Storm with her own bottle of liquid - TONS of it - and by doing so RUINED my beloved Storm.
Verizon approved my story - it will SOON stop working, it has moisture damage.
Bestbuy deny liablity - consumer relation can't help (helpless)
small claim court? Am I the only one?
Thanks Loma.

Rule #1... don't trust people behind counters... not even with opening up the phone to put the battery in it.
Welcome to the world of "Idiots Behind Counters".
Sorry for your loss... I'd make a big media stink about it... seriously, do it, it's well within your right as a consumer.

open up the battery cover. Look at the stickers that show if it got wet. If it shows it got wet. Take the sticker off. If it doesn't then return it. If it does show it is wet I have taken the sticker off and the verizon person scratches their head and as long as you act stupid then they can't prove it got wet and will replace it.

Sorry, but this is utter crap. Your story is full of BS. You first claim the employee sprayed zagg liquid in it. Then you change the story mid post to some liquid she had.
First of all the spray liquid that comes with the invisible shield by zagg is neutral and non conductive/cprrossive. It cannot harm your phone. You could submerge it in a jar of that fluid and nothing would happen. I applied my own invisible shield by zagg and sprayed hands, phone and shield repeatedly with no issues. I know plenty of people who have done this.
I doubt anyone would just whip out a spray bottle of water to apply your shield, considering best buy has RECORDED VIDEO MONITORING OF ALL CASH REGISTERS like all other retailers and that is the same desk where these same retailers apply these screens.
go file a claim, subpoena the recording and get. New phone on their dime.
Or you could just stop lying?

Respect your opinion, but completely disagree. The NEW ZAGG kits come with a sponge and tray with liquid. Just got (2) more for two new BB's. The tray specifically states to use WATER to refill and can be refilled up to (3) times.
Best Buy personnel installed the shield on my first S1 as part of the Geek Squad installation they offer for free. She sprayed the **** out of it with that stuff when it was still the spray bottle.
Now, since it was done by an employee, THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE. Call the Best Buy 1-800 number and explain, or talk to the store manager. I didnt have any issues.
The liquid DOES cause problems on the S2. If the liquid gets under the screen along the egdes it will close the contact between the corner buttons and the contacts under the screen, which will cause that multi-click sounds. Been there done that. Give it a day to dry and it should be good to go.
As for enough of it getting inside of either device to cause the water mark stickers to change colors, I have to call BS on that. There is way too many pieces and parts between the screen and the stickers for it to make it to those stickers. Then not to mention enough to make it change colors.
I'd talk to the Best Buy management and get it replaced. One, its under warranty, and two, if you got either the Verizon insurance or the Best Buy insurance plan, you shouldnt have too much trouble getting it exchanged.

Ok, first of all, Mr CBR, grow up and think before you type.
To the user who originally wrote this, you say your phone will "soon stop working." This to me sounds like you've seen no ill effects yet on your phone. Stop being so dramatic. If the phone works fine then there is no damage. If the water damage stickers tripped, then I agree with bad boy321...that's BS in my opinion, you must have gotten it wet some other way. If they aren't tripped then its unlikely there is any damage to your device.
There are plenty of stories on the forums of BB's being dunked in water, then taken out and left to dry and working fine after a day or two. I certainly hope for your sake that this is the case with yours as well.

The first mistake was to let the Geek Squad touch anything electronic.

Thank you guys for taking care of "MrCbr" for me, I would have been much less patient.
The all story is 3 pages long and I tried to summarized it, respecting everybody's time.
The day after the Bestbuy visit I stopped at Verizon who opened my device and said it has water damage - hence they can not do anything about it. I accepted that, it's not their fault.
The damages is visible, and yes it's still working - but the screen is less clear.
I do not know if the 'sticker' is marked - or if the VZW emp simply saw the 'water marks'.
On Bestbuy forum(!!!) someone told me that ZAGG instructions are NOT to spray the Storm - tada! this is what I wanted to hear. I am clarifying it with ZAGG themselves and then need to go to court. Bestbuy don't listen to me - I called corporate yet they call the store manager to make the decision and he refuse to do anything.
IF YOU KNOW OF SIMILAR CASES PLEASE SHARE!

Sorry to hear about your Storm! I worked at a Best Buy Mobile and always sprayed the shield itself, not the phone. I hope they work with you to get this resolved.

So far, nothing works, they even stopped talking to me in their own forum.
Small claim court is most likely my only way now :-<
