::: sigh ::: Glad you're so happy, but do some research and educate yourself before you starting making claims like this which only make you look foolish.

I heard the story on NPR this morning, so it must be true. I'll still stick with Blackberry. It would get annoying if my iPod Touch was ringing and messaging me all the time.

I posted this in another thread, but it looks like it applies here as well.

Verizon iPhone? Maybe Never | Technology | Financial Articles & Investing News | TheStreet.com

Summary: Verizon is smart enough to realize that iPhone users will also be iTunes users. Which would make them less likely to buy music, video, etc. from Verizon through VCast. It's also likely the main reason they turned down the iPhone in the first place.

The bottom line is that it's all about the bottom line.

I disagree. The list of bugs I hate about the storm goes on forever, but I'll take my multitasking, swappable battery phone over some apple nonsense anyday.

There have been numerous news stories that the iPhone IS coming to VZW. That's fine, glad people have choices. Sometimes, I read responses that cause me to think "this guy is feeling THREATENED over this!" The bottom line is, we all have choices and nothing is happening that will force us to go one way or the other. I want VZW to do well and if this helps them, then great. Personally, my boss emailed me a link on the same subject and I wrote him a long diatribe back as to why this may not be a good idea for him! I'll stick with my S2, thank you very much.

Funny, given how the original Bold and Bold 9700 have not suffered in sales at all sharing a stable with Apple.

I see what you're saying, but the reason vzw turned down apple is because they wanted a share of the subscription fees. Verizon puts rhapsody on a lot of phones standard. I doubt they care much about vcast.

Most people I know with iPhones and iPods (myself included) HATE that they are tied to iTunes, so I would venture a guess that iPhone users are also iTune users because it is forced down their throats, not because they want to use it.

Itunes is a bloated, self-important resource hog. God I can't stand it.

lol its sad but true, i think most people hate itunes indeed...but when you base your product that sells millions around that very POS software, it doesnt matter. People use it. **** even i loaded all of my 60k+ mp3s into itunes and got all the pretty cover art embedded into the files and such just to load it onto my ipod and the storm also. I never use it other than to keep the music sorted for playlists and that is it.
