| | Another chapter in my BB saga
So about 2 weeks ago, my blackberry broke, black screen, lots of problems, I've had threads on these forums before about it. I'll put the video of it at the bottom. Anyways I called Telus on January 8th, and they sent me a "new blackberry" and a return mailer for my old. It never got to me. So I phoned again, on the 16th and told them I never got it. On the phone the guy said, "No problem, we'll have one shipped out on Monday, you'll have your new blackberry before Thursday." So I thought to myself, sweet. New blackberry. It took a little while longer than expected, but it'll be great to get it. I need it for school and stuff. So today, Tuesday the 19th I got the package! I opened the envelope, and inside was the blackberry box, opened up the box and it's empty. I called Telus and they said to put it in the box and send it to them. Why, I absolutely flipped out. Horrible customer service, it's driving me nuts. ETA for my new storm is EIGHT WEEKS. Eight weeks without a flipping phone. Just wanted to post a rant on here, hopefully if you were considering Telus as your next carrier, you reconsider. YouTube - BlackBerry Storm Died - Screen Malfunction. |

Wow, that really sucks. I'd be angry as well. Do you have a Telus store in your area? Does Telus do "stores"? Your story makes be grateful to have a decent provider like Verizon.

Eight weeks? Holy cow. There is no reason at all that it should take them 8 weeks to send you a phone, it's not like they are manufacturing one just for you.
I would speak to retentions and tell them they have your new BB there next day, or you're taking your business elsewhere.
Good luck, I hope this story turns out better than it has been so far for you.

Wow....That sucks. Eight weeks for a replacement BB is completely unacceptable. So is having to send your old one in first, before receiving the replacement.
That's why I stick with Big Red.

We have two Telus dealers in my town, which will sell you phones, and plans, and everything like that but they won't repair or take back any phones. I've tried to cancel my service but whenever I do, it's "You have a year left on your contract sir, sorry." BTW, as it stands now I am being billed for the time I DO NOT USE MY PHONE.

Will the Telus store give you a loaner in the meantime, even if it's not a BB?

I remember years ago, when I was young and stupid, I got a contract with Sprint. They operated about the same way as Telus is with you except they wouldn't even loan a phone. I had a phone that I could receive a call but could not dial out unless the number I was calling did not contain the number 5 because that button would not work. I argued and argued and got nowhere. Had to wait 2 weeks for a replacement phone to be sent to the store and then had to go and get the replacement. They couldn't understand how upset I was that I had to drive a 50 mile round trip twice to get to the store and then when they finally changed the phone they replaced it with a phone that would only work when it wanted to work and they didn't even transfer my contacts so I had to sit and manually enter every contact in.
I finally gave up dealing with them and kept phoning them and argued with them until they decided to end the contract because I was arguing that I had to climb onto the roof of my home to make or receive a phone call.
They even phoned me while I was at home and then phoned me back on my land line because they couldn't carry a conversation with me and finally admitted that they are not providing the service.
So I feel for you when it comes to being messed about over a phone or over service. I got it both ends from Sprint.
While I am not a great Verizon Fan I am also very wary about switching service to another carrier after the problems I had with sprint but sometimes you have to ask yourself, is it really worth having a customer to business relationship with Telus or cheaper to cut your losses and move carrier.

I'd switch carriers today if I could.
