Angry 7th Storm replacement... Will Verizon ever switch me?!?

Hi, I got my Storm last April. Since then, I've had it swapped out six different times all for factory defects. Never once was anything broken due to my own fault.

Its ranged from the camera not focusing, not booting up, the touch screen becoming unresponsive, and the latest three-week old device's speaker going out and not making any sounds. Today I got my 7th Storm.

Anyone know if there is some limit to when Verizon will let me change devices? They claim no, but I'm wondering if anyone else has called customer service and gotten their way otherwise.

I LOVE the Storm, but changing phones on an average of every two months is beyond annoying and frustrating. I just want a phone that works!

I'd ask to see if you can switch to the storm 2 and get a discount.
7 storms is pretty ridic.

7 of any device is ridiculous. I would complain like crazy if they don't upgrade you to the Storm 2 because that is just crap they would keep sending you out these devices with different types of issues.

See this is a good reason to leave a carrier or at least threaten. I'm not saying you should because other than his VZW is probably best for you, but if there was a reason to leave a carrier, this would one. They should take care of their customers. See myself, I would have bolted after the 3rd one.

I would say to call customer service and complain but it may not do you any good. They used to have a program that would allow you to get a comprable model after having so many replacement but they recently did away with it. So you may be outta luck until you are eligible to upgrade.

We got a Storm 2 on the 4th replacement. I'd be heading into your nearest corporate store & raise a bit of a stink. Don't have to get TOO bad, but they should switch ya pretty quickly.....

I got a S2 after just 1 replacement! Definitely call CS and ask them to swap you a new S2. When I went into the store to have my S1 replaced I asked for the heck of it if they would give me an S2 instead and they did, no questions asked. Make you you ask them! 7 replacements is absurd!

if you have 3 replacements they are suppose to offer you an alternate phone
call customer care and ask to speak with a manager

you should be able to ask for a multi-fru replacement.. i think its after you've had your phone replaced at least 3 times due to malfunction, a manager can give you a different phone. of course this is not a guarantee, but talk to the manager and explain your troubles, but don't lose your cool. its not their fault the phone doesn't work, but it is their job to make you a happy and satisfied customer (within reason).

You wont be able to a multi-fru replacement any longer that program no longer exists, so your only hope is definitely ranting and raving to customer service.

Yeah the Storm probably pushed that program in non-existence. With all the Storm replacements everyone would have been upgraded to a different device.

Are you still in the 30 day warranty window (or whatever it is they give you for refurb replacements)? Go to a corp store and raise a fuss, if they won't give you a new S2 or some other smartphone (which isn't likely only because you are past your one year warranty) insist that the replacement be canadian made. I got one about a month ago and there is something about it vs. the mexico/china/hungary made phones, it is *phenominal*. It's fast, my old battery lasts forever in it, and the screen click/sensitivity is great. There wasn't even anything 'bad' about my old phone except the buzzer malfunctioned; it's still a refurb but it is *perfect* as far as storms go.

I've had my storm 9530 since the day it came out and its working like a charm. It also happens to be made in Mexico. I may very well be the exception to the rule, but I can tell you at the least that where its made makes no difference.
