Thumbs down well....my rents arent tech friendly

so my account on vz is up for 2 upgrades, my parents being the technological equivolent of a rock, dont understand it makes more sense to upgrade now then to wait until we all need more upgrades than avaliable, on the brightside i have 3 phones (chocolate, env touch, bb storm) the latter 2 are covered in warrenty, so im wondering if theres anyway to circumvent my parents in order to get a new phone? like if one breaks & i go in store can i do it all "under the table" my rents wont check the site so no issue there, i just need to actually come in to posetion of the phone

Just sit them down and do a cost-benefit analasis of getting a new phone. It must include lots of visual aids, like spreadsheets, graphs, powerpoint presentations (no cheesy animations!), and lots of big words and references to the visual aids.
You will have your phone in 3 to 5 days depending on your audience.

Or just live with it since they are paying the bill.

edit - it just occured that they're eligible for an upgrade...
beat them into submision until you get a new phone... but still use the visual aids.. but like, as a club.

Why not tell your parents that you are going to drop out of school and marry your pregnant girlfriend and live in her mothers house unless they let you upgrade your phone.

I don't really get why they wont let you do it anyway, what difference is it to them?

IMO (as a parent paying for my child's phone) I guess that if you don't have a conscience then deceiving your parents by omission is a reflection of your upbringing.

Why not do the right thing as a good child would do and ask your parents. Sit down and have a mom and pop talk and try and work things out to benifit all of you. my daughter did something similar pn her phone. She is 14 has a BB tour and went online and downloaded over $150.00 dollars worth of ringers and themes. Needless to say when dad saw the bill online 1 week later he shut her phone down all but phone usage no email no text . She now has extra chores and will gladly tell you she learned her lesson

OP: 97% of people will believe a comment if you include statistics....therfore i second seven's idea about the cost/value synopsis....go to graphjam and make tons of pie charts, line graphs, etc...or better yet, use generic ones that other people already made. i've successfully replaced real graphs with ones i found from graphjam, especially if the font is small and people can't read. just point a lot, and talk. move fast so they don't get a chance to actually read any of it. and if they ask to see it again, tell 'em you have a meeting scheduled right after this to see a man about some ducks.

Except instead of ducks, tell them it's about a contract switch.

Come up with the extra cash that an upgrade will cost and explain the benefits of a person such as yourself that is interested in new technology. Such as... Feeding your interests and helping you learn more and keeping you ahead of the curve in mastering the ever evolving world of technology and ultimately helping you get a better job and maybe someday inventing the longer lasting lightbulb. Lying is never going to get you anything...well... Except maybe if you want to be president ...

So in other words, "Can someone offer thoughts and ideas on how I can be a successful, cheat, liar, sneak, ---all around piece of crud?"
