| | So What Should I Do (Scammed)
So you know all of those commercials you see on tv, asking to trade in all of your old/used/and broken jewellery ?
Well I had some silver chains lying around (and yes I know silver isnt worth much but it was either get rid of them this way or just put them in the garbage) and I saw a Cash4Gold commercial so I went on their website and they said that they also took silver, then they asked for some information (name, address and postal code) so that they could send me a shipping package to put my jewellery in, and I waited about 3 days and went to my mailbox and there was the package, so I checked off what items I had and I sent it on its way!
Now they said that it would take about 5 business days to send a cheque back to me but I waited and waited (weeks) and nothing ever came. Did I get scammed ?????

Well obviously I got scammed cause its been about a month and I still have nothing, But I mean this was supposed to be a legitimate company and I dont see why they would want to taint thier name, if the silver wasnt even worth paying to send me money they could have at least been courteous enough to send my stuff back and explain that it wasnt worth it.

Did you ever come to the conclusion that maybe you should contact them? Not every company is perfect they all make mistakes, maybe your payment just "slipped through the cracks", or it got lost in the mail service
Maybe it never even made it there.

FWIW, around here anyway, dozens of 'Money for Gold' places are popping up in strip malls and stuff. I'm told they have much better prices and you get to deal in person.

Almost sounds like business as usual for Cash4Gold according to Consumerist.com.

Tried calling them once before about to call them again!
The first time I called all they said was that they were going to send me a claim package so that I could tell them what I sent in and they would handle it, yeah right!!! been a week and a bit now still no claim package.

Well its been reported that it is a scam. You could try to report them but everything they do is legal. All they will tell you is that you should have read the fine print. Personally I think eveyone who runs that business should be thrown in jail.

It's not so much a scam as it is about making a deal, a really really crappy deal.
As a consumer though, I wouldn't touch them with a 10-foot pole. No way I'm going to mail away my valuables and let someone I've never met value them.
Also keep in mind they insure your jewelry up to $100. I don't about you but that raises a red flag in my head. If I we're to send in my gold, I wouldn't send more than $100 at a time because they can easily just say oh "woops, I never got it, lets make a claim." You'll get $100 and they get however much you sent in. Not cool.
A note to all consumers out there: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Edit: Call them every 2 days. A claim package shouldn't take that long to arrive, continue to harass them, don't feel bad about it. They screwed up, its on them to fix this. File a claim with the BBB too. It's there for a reason, everyone needs to do this because that's what cash4gold cares about, if they get a poor rating, less and less people will do business with them until they clean up their act.

And I ask you this because if they did not receive my items and my items were not worth $100 (like I said I sent in silver chains, they are worth nothing) can I just make up items I put in the bag and get the $100 insurance cheque, considering the fact they did not receive my package anyways ?

If you file an insurance claim, just be honest about what you list. You don't need a fraud charge on top of being ripped off.
