Exclamation PS3 acting up need advice.

A couple weeks ago I tried to eject a disc out of my PS3 it made some mechanical sound and the blue light flashed and nothing. Pressed it again and it popped out, didnt think anything about it.

Well its progressively getting worse. Last night it took 5-6 tries to eject Uncharted 2.

I would like to solve this before something gets stuck in there. Im pretty decent with electronics but no expert, so any advice on what to do would be much appreciated. Also trying to avoid sending it in, unless thats the only option.

Welcome to the "wonderful" world of Sony! Next step is it will put two HUGE grooves in your disc! I hope it's still under warranty because there's probably nothing you can do!

I'd say call Sony and see what they say. What's with the ps3 and 360? They always have some problem.

I don't know about the Xbox, but Sony is notorious for having CD load mechanism failures. I don't have enough fingers to count how many warranty claims I have had to make with Sony, most of which were load mechanism problems. It's funny, because I had several Sony products in the early and mid 80's that were great, but after about 1990 (I think?) everything went to h3ll with them. I won't buy anything from them anymore unless they are my only option.

MY ps3 crashes a looooot more than my 360, sadly...

Tech QC in general is pretty much gone from what I can see in recent devices/tv/etc. you name it, it has problems.
