New idea to keep redundant threads from being opened.

Why not require noobs to have at least 10 posts or higher before they can open a new topic? That way, they'd be forced to do a little bit of reading before just opening up the same isht that's already 4 topics down on the page.

Good idea, but it penalizes the person who has been a lurker and has searched and can't find the answers they need.

any lurker can get 10 posts. How hard is it to post a thank you or something when you find the answer to a question you had. seriously 10 posts in nothing.

By the way Civic i asked for this long time ago and it went no where. You have more pull than I though

It's a good idea, but I mean, if someone has searched and needs an answer and makes an account, they're gonna have to go out of their way to make ten posts, although ALMOST every issue I've had, I've searched and found the answer...

You can go ahead and practice black magic and learn voodoo medicine too. NO matter what you do, every forum has this problem. I suggest you just not worry about it. It is a lot easier.

meh, it wouldn't change anything in my opinion.

There are just people who will just want the answer spoon fed to them, nothing any of us are going to be able to do change that. Only thing is they'll now go to 10 posts and then be able to post the same thread only to get the same response "Use search"

I used to be apart of a forum a while ago that had a pretty cool feature. It did ah auto search. Say you post a question titled lost browser. Before it posts is searches had then says: have you tried these threads first? Then it links you. If those done do it the forum will let too post.

umm....idk if 10 will be enough...we've seen n00bs spam just to get 10 so they can post stupid questions...

the thing about fighting idiots, they'll bring you to their level and beat you with experience, making something ***** proof, they'll just make a better *****....yeah...those come to mind
