Default Need mac help :(

Girlfriend decided to "upgrade" my PC to a iMac. s gonna go haywire and i know it, wtf do i need to do to make sure it doesnt?

Wasn't anything wrong with my old PC, infact my old PC blew this thing out the water, but my girls dad got a brand new iMac, so she gave me his old one (said it was like year old ) and asked me to donate my PC to their church youth group. Not happy that im going to lose my PC cause i built that thing starting back from when i was 16, and downgrading to this iMac.

Old PC had 3GHz HT Pentium 4, 4 Gigs of Ram, 2 250GB HD, and a Nvidia 7800 GT GPU. Only thing i know is this thing has a 2.16ghz Core 2 duo, 2 gigs of RAM and a 250HD, and OSX 10.5.

Anyways i need to figure out the best way to move everything over from my old PC to the mac now, and gotta have it done by sunday.

I already know my Zune isnt gonna sync, but i have programming class and is there a way to get Visual Studio on mac? I know bootcamp is an option but i already paid for Windows 7 and it doesnt come out till later this month (30 dollars for a student copy) so i need something to tide me over until then.

Help please, my whole computing life has been turned upside down

Just run Parallels or bootcamp, install XP or Vista or whatever crap PC's are spewing these days, and move all your stuff over via external HD or SD card or whatever. When Windows 7 comes out, upgrade.

Honestly, the simplicity that escapes PC users boggles the mind.

I run VMFware Fusion and it works peachy. Tho I never go back to it. Got this IMac about a year ago as well.....never has frozen once. Maybe I am lucky.

However. Updating to .230 had to be done on my windows machine and or VM and three times I had to start over cause of unresponsiveness.

I would say just got get another PC tho. Good luck.

I have a 100 GB external HD, and you clearly didnt read what i mainly asked for, Visual Studio.

Oh and im not gonna spend a few hundred dollars on an OS when i have Windows 7 coming on the 23rd, therefore is why im looking for an option to run Visual Studio on mac, oh and i know all about Bootcamp already.

Oh, and if the church wanted this mac id gladly give them this piece of **** and keep my old PC
