Default Blew up in the Local VZ store

Long story i will shorten it like RIM does are e-mails......

Got girlfriend a S2....
sales person started explain about the phone.....
Girlfriend stopped her and said we can find any info we need on Crackberry...
Sales lady says "you have to watch out what you do on Crackb....."
i stopped her right there in mid sentence by saying "BuII-She-hit" loud enough most customers in the store heard me! going on to say "you will get better and more acurate advice and problem fixes on crackberry then you ever would if you called CS or walked into a VZW store with a problem". for the simple fact that VZW store employees are all on commision now and dont really give a ham about you unless your in there to buy something!

You know, I have always been a fan of VZW's customer service, but things seem to be going downhill lately.

I went into a VZW store this past Friday because my Storm's screen only clicks on the bottom when it feels like it. It's been an issue for a while, but it's seems to be getting worse.

Anyway, I take my Storm into the store and describe the problem to the rep, show her my phone, and she replies, "Well, you know, we just released a software update a few days ago. Let me have someone update your phone." I then asked her how a software update would fix a non-clicking screen. She looked right at me and said, "It will." I laughed. I told her that's like upgrading to Windows 7 because your mouse doesn't work.

She ordered me a replacement phone.

Hope this is not a sign of things to come with VZW.

i went in two different stores and showed them an issue im having with mine and neither store would replace mine i had to call the 800 922 0204 number and explain everything to CS. i got a nice CS lady on the phone and said store couldnt do anything cause they dont make any money replacing a phone. i told her i have tried everything to fix the issue... full wipe aka 507 error, redownload and install 328, battery pulls, etc etc.... she said "looks like you have tried everything... do you want you replacement sent to your home or work address?" 5 minute call but im pretty sure she gets an hourly wage lol

so if i keep wiping the new ones they give me and put pearl software or something on them everytime i might eventually get the S2 which gets awesome reception at my house! also i remember someone up here saying the *228 option 2 does nothing to a storm? they keep telling me ti try that everytime i call about having bad reception at the house. side note? can you acually brick a storm? would wiping it then putting it in microwave for like 5 seconds acomplish this? lol

same issue here when I bought my Tour. The sales guy tried to tell me about the phone which I already knew most everyting about so far from Crackberry before i bought it. I also told him I already knew what the phone was and what it can do from crackberry. The guy looked at me and said "you have to watch what you read about on crackberry" "lots of bad information" lol i laughed said "yeah ok" and when i turned out to leave the store, "this is why I dont call verizon for help"

I think its sad verizon doesnt know half as much as what we know of a website such as crackberry. I hate it when verizon tries to tell me something like they think they know everything... ahh!

It's not just Verizon. All the carriers' stores just employ folks with a gift of gab who are good at selling stuff they know nothing about.

AT&T is no better. My friend had to go to the Apple store to get help with his iPhone. The AT&T store reps were dumb as rocks.

I went into the store about a faulty charger in which you had to have it be bent down with a little pressure to make it charge and you know what the guy told me? He goes "I have the storm too and my charger does that too, its just normal you're not supposed to touch your phone when its charging" .....are you kidding me?

crackberry is a database of known resolutions, and problems. but 95% of what we discuss here is user error, or something nobody can fix anyway.

most of the real issues should still be reported to VZW so that they can be forwarded to RIM for fixes in the OS and services, etc. still needs to be documented.

i made a comment like this in a thread about email outages, and people went berserk at me like RIM and VZW couldn't fix it, only kevin could rofl!

but i agree, if you want to find something out, google search will find you more than the lay CS or sales person. but remember, their job is to either sell you stuff or to do stuff for you. tech support people and higher is where the real product knowledge is. you can't expect the front line n00bs to know everything. that expectation alone is enough to set yourself up for failure.
