Default Audacity Audio Editor?

Anyone use it? I just downloaded it, and no matter what I import it isn't playing or showing that it has any audio...
any help is appreciated.

You're importing MP3's or AAC? Only MP3's work with Audacity. And for free ware it's pretty decent, but Adobe Audition 3 is about 100 times better, especially if you're trying to remove vocals (I learned this from the CB contest...lol!). But you only get 30 days to try it and then I think it's like $200 or something.

Anyway, make sure you are only trying to open non protected MP3's. Also, you need to download the LAME MP3 plug-in doodad if you want to export your changed files as MP3.

It was a wav file, but I just decided to record through Audacity, since what I am editing I recorded anyway.

I thought wav worked through it though.

Thanks for the input.

Yeah, I think you can only export to wav, but for some reason not import it...weird...

Oh, well either way, it's a really cool software. I like that I can record in one straight shot, and edit out when I mess up (guitar... always mess up if it's being recorded lol), instead of stopping and recording multiple times like with a camera (what I used for recording)...
