Default Yum! Kool-Aid (Moving from AT&T to Verizon)

After about a month of using a 9530 on AT&T EDGE (or edge, depending on how my service books were feeling, but mostly EDGE) I was more than satisfied with the device. My major concerns were memory and wifi. I was enticed by the 9550. When I found out that I would save over $50 a month with Verizon, even AFTER $205 in AT&T early termination fees (thanks to a generous corporate discount) and the 2 for $99 deal Verizon is offering I was almost ready to go. My last concern is that my family is on AT&T and our airtime to one another was free. AT&T cleared that one up for me with the A-List feature. My parents/sister share a plan, and only need two number to cover my wife and I without eating their minutes. In the end, I save money, plus I get WiFi, 3G and more room to breathe/abuse apps. I love the 9530 and will probably give it to a VZW-subscribing friend who wants it. Now, for the tough part. I wonder how many of my favorite apps will be available for the 9550.

Mostly all my paid apps have ported over just fine. The only one that didn't was a flashlight app that I no longer use because of quicklaunch. Oh right… This is going from an 8900 to a 9530.

I've not heard of any Storm 1 app that did not work with the Storm 2. It's usually the other way around since the Storm 2 supports OpenGL. So games made with Storm 2 using OpenGL will not work with Storm 1
