What was damaged on my Storm 9530

Well I hope this is an appropriate place to ask this regarding my storm 9530. Being completely paranoid about damaging my storm I usually have it covered and away from anything that may damaged. Well while I placed it on top of my desk to charge the gf tossed my walled on top of the desk and it landed right on top of the storm. I didn't think much of it as the wallet was pretty small and light. After a while I removde the storm from the charger and noticed a visible line (about 1 inch) on the lower portion of the screen. From that line I noticed perpendicular colors lines that went completely across the screen. The phone functioned normally, but those lines were definitely there. I didn't think much of it..rebooted the phone and hoped these lines would go away. Now a couple days later it looks like the lines have multiplied (bled)and the top portion of my screen is a grey/white color as if someone had gotten a paint brush and painted the top portion of the screen. Everything functions as normal except that apps under 1/3 of the screen are not visible (but they can be selected). Do I need a new LCD screen or simply a cover for the LCD screen? Please help guys/gals...

sounds like a new LCD is needed but before you go out and buy on id take it to verizon a see what they say....and once you get that straighted out id strongly suggest gettin screen protectors.
